Black Panther #3 has further ignited my interest in this new direction. Coates is recreating the Black Panther mythos in the far reaches of space, and he has the same fire and strength which he showed at the beginning of his time with T'Challa. Plus, Daniel Acuna continues to show his every-growing artistic talent. This book earns a recommendation for sure. Give it a read. Read Full Review

When will the plot develop? What direction is Coates moving going forward? That said, if your cup of tea is battle scenes with tons of action, then this is the issue for you. But, if your cup of tea is story, plot, and character development with answers, you may have to wait until next issue for that. Read Full Review
The plot thickens and fight comes close to home for the Maroons. Somehow T'Challa sees it coming but maybe not in time to truly prepare for the onslaught of the Empire's forces. Also, the empire may have a ringer that pose a serious threat to the lives of our heroes M'Baku, T'Challa, Nakia, and N'Yami. Read Full Review
Hopefully the series will develop the plot and characters more, but the sci-fi action brought to gorgeous, colorful life by Daniel Acua continues to make the series a really fun read. Read Full Review

The beginning of this issue was promising. It looked like it was going to delve deeper into the mystery of T'Challa, how he lost his memories and what his connection to the empire of Wakanda is. Unfortunately, the story veered into a standard action story with the invasion of the base and everything that was building from a character perspective got pushed to the side for the sake of introducing a new villain. You really need to read what Coates has going. Also I hope Coates is at least considering a creator owned sci-fi series somewhere. This book continues to look and be great. The stakes are high the world is amazing and every issue I want to keep pressing on. The story takes place in a future with familiar faces and names populating the story. Coates does not seem to be in a rush and I am fine with that. The intergaltic empire of Wakanda is a setting I hope lasts after this arc is concluded, but Coates work on BP and Captain America should prove he has really arrived as a great comic writer.
Coates is trucking along and i dig what he's doing. Daniel Acuna is a master artist. Period.
Exciting issue, sometimes the action was unclear.
Another year passes, the Empire strikes back at the Maroons, and the first scene sheds welcome light on the setting. It's definitely a "distant future" story; now the key question is: How does this T'Challa relate to the one we know? This is a nice, even presentation that lightly taps a lot of good bases: world-building, characterization, action, and pretty art. Nothing stands out far enough to haul it into all-time greatness, but the balance is good.
I am really liking this series. I felt this was the best issue so far and it gave us a hint of what’s going, plus it had a great cliff hanger. Downside is the art - I find it hard to follow in some panels, but I’m on board. Setting a Black Panther storyline in space is turning out to be pretty good.
Heavy on the space action.
The art is great as always, but the story and characters are a bit bland.
THE GOOD:
-I think the script is the best part of the issue. I like the unique writing style, it is well suited for this kind of sic-fi style of tale.
-I liked the portrayal of M'Baku. He was well-translated into the atmosphere of the story and had unique writing and was pretty well-depicted.
THE BAD:
-The art wasn't doing it. Just lacked detail and originality. I wish we could see more of the art style from the first one, where more attention to detail benefitted the story.
-This issue unfortunately descended into bland action scenes with no originality.
