Gargoyles Quest #1 is shaping up to be a very compelling story so far. If youre a fan of the show and like to see the sinister schemes of characters like Demona and Thailog, this comic is for you. Weisman knows how to leave his audience on the edge of their seats craving more, and this comic is no exception. It is exciting, full of mystery and intrigue and really captures the spirit of the show.

You dont have to be a Whovian to enjoy this comic. Justice Ducks #2 is fun for the whole family. You will especially enjoy this issue if you are a fan of both Darkwing Duck and Doctor Who. If you arent interested in Doctor Who, you may not appreciate this comic as much, but its still an enjoyable story.  Overall though, it wraps up nicely in this fun adventure.

Disney Villains: Cruella De Vil #3 does a great job at providing more of a backstory for Emily Bezzler and her connection to Cruella, as well as reestablishes the relationship between Cruella and her henchmen, Horace and Jasper. This issue seems to make Cruella more confident in her villainy, when she was previously wallowing in self-pity. She doesnt seem interested any longer in keeping up appearances and pretending to be on the straight and narrow, but unashamedly evil. What do you think will happen next? Can Cruella trust Emily not to double-cross her?

If youre looking for a somewhat fun comic thats also semi-educational, The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #4 is for you. If youre hoping for the Scooby-Doo characters to be drawn in the more traditional style and for the villain to put up a bit more of a fight before he is defeated, you will be disappointed. All in all, its still a good mystery, but the ending is a little bit rushed.

Batman '89: Echoes #2 is a fun story that adds to the plot through building up the characters and has enjoyable references to previous Batman media and popular actors of the 1980's and 90's. That being said, what may be disappointing is that there are no real costumed heroes to speak of in this issue, and cover is not really representative of the story in this current issue.

Lilo & Stitch #1 presents an excellent visit back into the world of the Lilo & Stitch franchise. This expands further into the world by showing Earth locations outside of Hawaii as well, exploring new possibilities for storytelling. Further adventures await as Stitch finds himself in new territory. How will Experiment 626 navigate in these new locations and can he control his destructive impulses without Lilos guidance?

While Gargoyles: Dark Ages #6 did a good job showing the humans and gargoyles united in their fight against the dragon, the outcome was somewhat anticlimactic. This series as a whole doesnt seem to be too focused on action, and more interested in exploring the ancient folklore between the gargoyles and the humans. If you like learning about the history of these characters, youll enjoy it, but if you prefer something a bit more fast-paced, you may want to skip it.

Superman 78: The Metal Curtain #5 continues the story well and escalates the conflict. While there isnt too much action in this issue, it shows how the kryptonite radiation has caused Captain Nikolaev aka Metallo to descend into madness as well as how the Russian citizens respond to Superman based on the propaganda they read about him. Next issue we will see the final confrontation between the Man of Steel and the Steel-suited man!

Despite the incongruous character designs, The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #3 is still a fun story, especially since it focuses more on Catwoman and her tendency towards both heroics and villainy, whatever suits her fancy. She is a complex character and a fitting one for a comic featuring a group of mystery solvers. Scooby fans and Catwoman fans in particular are sure to enjoy this.

Negaduck #4 continues the story well and presents many plot twists. It pits two of St. Canards most ruthless rogues against each other, showcasing the cold, calculating, cutthroat nature of both criminals. It manages to present a compelling story with all villains and not a hero in sight. It points to the fact that fictional villains often have staying power and can hold their own in a compelling story, without the need for a hero to challenge them. Darkwings foes certainly show this to be true. If you love Darkwing Duck villains and clever plot twists, you will enjoy this issue.

Superman 78: The Metal Curtain #4 is a good edition to this series that leaves you wanting more. Although it seems strange how Superman doesnt seem as effected by kryptonite as in previous issues, this comic does a good job of reestablishing the rivalry between Lex and Superman in the Reeve universe. It may also involve the two begrudgingly teaming up next issue, or will they be mortal enemies once more? This issue also leaves it open-ended about Metallos fate, but since theres 2 more issues left in this miniseries, its doubtful weve seen the last of him.

While there are some fun homages in The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #2, the overall story is pretty lackluster, especially since there werent really any other suspects or red herrings besides the one character. They could have explored Grundys origin more or even cast suspicion on one of the tourists. If you like references to the classics, you may enjoy this one, but if you enjoy a good mystery, you probably will be disappointed.

Gargoyles: Dark Ages #5 is a good continuation to this series and introduces new characters that expand upon the gargoyles lore. This issue shows us things mostly from a childs perspective, which makes the dragon all the more terrifying. There isnt much of Angel/Demona and the Archmage this issue, besides her learning to read, but they may end up using the dragon for nefarious purposes. Aside from the dragon's awakening, the action in this issue is lacking. Hopefully it will pick up a bit more next issue now that the dragon has been let loose.

Disney Villains: Hades #5 was a good concluding issue to what was a funny series. It introduced new characters, and reimagined others. Although some characters previously appeared on Hercules the animated series, this comic brings that series canon into question, due in part to characters like Jason and Icarus appearing completely differently from how they appeared in the show. Hades squad of misfits really worked well together and the unique personalities they each had really helped to establish their characters. It also showed us that for all his bravado, smooth talk and sarcasm, Hades feels lonely, despite not really admitting it to anyone. Yet, even this doesnt cause us to sympathize with him and he still remains the snarky villain from the movie. Anyone who is a fan of Disneys Hercules and Hades in particular, would definitely enjoy this series.

Justice Ducks #1 is fun for fans of Darkwing Duck and a great comic for the whole family to enjoy. It has action, humor and teamwork. Fans of Darkwing specifically may be a little let down though, since Darkwing isnt featured as prominently throughout the action sequences, however he still plays a significant role near the end of the story. This is a great introductory comic to new fans of these characters.

Disney Villains: Cruella De Vil #1 presents a very faithful depiction of the original animated Cruella De Vil. She wants to be liked and appreciated by high society, so she puts up a faade, concealing her true character. The storytellers remain consistent with the continuity of the original movie as well, while also introducing new characters. Cruella receives an enigmatic letter and a mysterious figure watches from afar as the issue closes. Who could it be and how might she be connected to Cruella?

Looney Tunes #276 presents two very fun stories. It is especially entertaining for those who are fans of Taz and/or Rocky and Mugsy. If you like the character of Lola Bunny or the genre of film noir, you will definitely appreciate the first story. This issue respects the Looney Tunes characters well, while also deviating from what readers normally expect to some extent, in order to keep us on our toes and provide more laughs.

Gargoyles #11 does a good job of interconnecting plot points from the show, such as those surrounding the character of Halcyon Renard and the lack of transparency on the part of Elisa Maza, and by extension, Matt Bluestone. Although unless youve binged the series recently, you probably wont be as impacted by this issue as the plot is heavily focused on particular plot points from the series that wouldnt make sense to those who havent seen the show or need a refresher. Its great for fans of the show, but they should give a little more background information for those who may need a reminder of the details from the show.

Superman 78: The Metal Curtain #3 does a good job of introducing new characters to the Christopher Reeve Superman universe. They are all inserted flawlessly, in a way that makes them seem natural to the world of the films. The characters who appeared in the films are depicted very faithfully to how they were portrayed in the movies, such as Clark, Lois, Jimmy and Perry. With the reappearance of the villain at the end, how do you think he might factor into the events of next issue?

Batman Beyond: Neo-Gothic #5 wasnt as captivating as other issues in this series and the plot is becoming difficult to follow. Characters seem to be coming out of nowhere with no real explanation for their return. The previous issues had a little bit more of a backstory. Its possible that more will be revealed in the final issue.

Superman 78: The Metal Curtain #2 continues a great storyline that feels like another Christopher Reeve film. It pays homage to the second movie and builds off of the previous comic series well, while also introducing new characters. This version of Metallo is a formidable opponent, even if hes not the traditional version of the character. What do you think might happen next?

Negaduck #3 is a good continuation of this storyline. It shows the Fearsome Five working together, albeit begrudgingly, for a common goal. This issue shows that they are able to hold their own in a story without Darkwing Duck, and it still provides much entertainment for readers. One can only wonder what mischief theyll get themselves into next. What challenges might they face next issue?

Batman 89: Echoes #1 is a great follow-up to last years Batman 89 series so far. It provides twists, turns, mystery and intrigue. It also builds well off of what came before with both the previous Tim Burton movies as well as last years Batman 89 comic series. Additionally, there are some clever homages to other Batmen such as the Nolanverse trilogy, the 1940s film serials, and even shelved Batman movies. This opening issue leaves us with more questions than answers, but it is sure to be exciting as it unfolds. It certainly feels like a new cinematic adventure. What do you think will happen next?

Darkwing Duck #10 showed good character growth for Darkwing and it serves as a good segue into the upcoming Justice Ducks series coming soon from Dynamite. Overall though, this didnt seem to be as exciting of a story arc. There could have been a more exciting villain and more interaction between Darkwing and Launchpad in this final issue. Nevertheless, it still presented the characters accurately with how they were depicted on the show.

Disney Villains: Hades #4 helps to flesh out the characters more. We see more of the personalities of characters like Jason and Medea and the drama between them. The motley crew that Hades assembled soon discover that theyre now able to work as a team, united with a common goal. Hades again proves himself to be a master manipulator. One can only wonder what his plans are next and if we will learn where this story fits within the timeline of the movie.

Superman '78: The Metal Curtain #1 is a great new addition to the Superman mythos within the Christopher Reeve movie universe. It gives us a fresh reimagining of the character of Metallo at connects it to historical world events happening around the time the Reeve movies were produced.

If you were expecting action, then Gargoyles: Dark Ages #4 will probably be disappointing for you. Nevertheless, it still depicts the relationships between humans and gargoyles well, showing the innocence of childhood and how children are naturally curious about differences between people (and this case, people and gargoyles.) It also foreshadows more of how Demona started dabbling in dark magic. What might happen next in the ancient gargoyle saga?

Batman Beyond: Neo-Gothic #3 is intriguing and re-introduces us to the Court of Owls, establishing them in the world of Batman Beyond. It also expands upon Kyles backstory and gives us more insight into this new character, even connecting him with older DC characters. There isnt much focus on other characters besides Batman and Kyle in this issue, but they still establish the connection between Beam and Terry, and may show her helping Terry in future issues of this series.

Batman Beyond: Neo-Gothic #4 gives some great insight into Kyles backstory and his mentorship by Constantine, even if it isnt how it really happened according to him, but since thats all we as readers have to go on right now, it helps us learn more about him as a character. Also, despite most fans knowing Terrys actual backstory, seeing a twisted version of it changes it up and helps us recognize Terrys fears and doubts, getting a little more insight into his character as well.

Disney Villains: Hades #3 presents a fun and compelling story, with characters getting into various perilous situations done in a comedic way. Hades and Jason play off each other well. Gargoyles #10 presented a solid conclusion to this story arc, but also leaves readers with an anticipation of whats to come by showing something significant happening in the life of a minor character from the show. Will these secrets being exposed by the final issue, and what might be the repercussions of revealing such secrets?

Negaduck #2 continues to be an exciting story. The villains are able to hold their own without Darkwing Duck and still make for a compelling tale. The characters stay in character based on how they were depicted in the show, and the dialogue is well-written for each character.

Gargoyles: Halloween Special #1 is a fun story that pays tribute to previous episodes from the show, as well as expands upon the characterization of new faces like Nashville, allowing the readers to learn more about his personality. He is a brave and somewhat impulsive character, much like his father. Just like the Halloween episode of the show, this comic pays tribute to a classic Disney movie through Elisas choice of costume. Even if you havent read the previous Gargoyles comics, this is a great issue to jump on board with to get invested into the characters.

Batman: The Adventures Continue Season Three #8 presents an excellent finale to this series. It does seem to retcon the events of Ras Al Ghuls appearance in the Batman Beyond episode, Out of the Past though, but Dini and Burnett have said that they were approaching it from a perspective of if Batman Beyond hadnt happened. Still, continuity sticklers may be bothered by the potential inconsistencies and trying to figure out if this series is canon with the DC animated universe at large. Nevertheless, it is still faithful to Timm and Dinis original vision for Batman: The Animated series and BTAS fans will definitely enjoy this final issue.

Darkwing Duck#9 , for the most part, is frankly disappointing. The Justice Ducks arc is being drawn out too long focusing more on in-fighting and personality clashes that any sort of fight against villainy. At this point, it wouldnt be surprising if there ends up not being a villain. This story arc is lackluster at best compared to previous Darkwing comics. Its disappointing because with more heroes, youd expect a greater threat worthy of their combined forces, and theyve just been bickering amongst themselves for three issues in a row without a trace of any villain in sight. Hopefully the story will improve, but it doesnt seem likely.

Gargoyles: Dark Ages #3 shows the story is getting more intense in terms of action, and it also shows fans how Demona first became a student of the Archmage. Disney Villains: Hades #2 continues to expand on this fun storyline, merging elements from the Disney movie with the typical espionage/crime thriller combined with Greek mythology and presented in a comedic style. New characters are also introduced not previously seen in the Disney version of the myth, such as King Aeeta and his daughter, Medea. This is an enjoyable read and it also educates readers on various Greek myths as well, albeit with artistic liberties taken. What will happen when Jason and Hades confront each other?

While Gargoyles #9 is lacking in terms of action, it does do a good job of re-examining themes from the show, such discussing whether gargoyles possess sentience and if theyre deserving of rights the same as humans. If youre a fan of Darkwing Ducks rogues gallery, then Negaduck #1 is definitely the comic for you! It features several sinister citizens of St. Canard and its a very funny story, as Negaduck seeks to compete with his fellow criminals. It also showcases Negaducks resourcefulness, despite many of his plans ending up being copied by others. He shows that he is a good parallel of Darkwing Duck. Just as Darkwings ego is big and he wants to be praised by the city, Negaducks ego is so big that he cant handle any criminals stealing his ideas. He wants to be sole villain for St. Canard to fear. The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #11 overall is a fun story with a lot of references and good humor. It brings in a minor Batman villain as a threat and showcases how Barbara Gordon is as helpful as Oracle as she is as Batgirl. The villain appears to be very smart, but it shows that he over-estimates his intelligence and makes a stupid error, allowing himself to get caught. Batman Beyond Neo-Gothic #1 is a good continuation of this series that allows us to see Terry on his own, and operating as Batman without any more guidance. While Bruce was often a loner, Terry usually had some people to rely on such as his family, his girlfriend Dana, and ally Max Gibson. Now, hes pushed them all away and with Barbara Gordon retiring, he really has to adjust to working mostly on his own, save for his stalwart new girlfriend, Beam, and Gestalt, who remains in the Batcave and functions as the Batcomputer. The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #10 isnt a terrible story, but it isnt as exciting either. It could have benefited from a different villain, or at least have had the villain have a little bit more dialogue once he was revealed. There really is no ultimate point to Disney Villains: Maleficent #3, other than perhaps to show the elusiveness of Maleficents pet raven. What does this story ultimately accomplish though? It doesnt tell us anything new about Maleficent, nor does it present any new characters of any significance. This was a poor story. Hopefully the next issue will be better. This is supposed to be set before the events of the Sleeping Beauty movie. It would be much more intriguing if they showed us how Maleficent first encountered King Stefan. As in the film, Scar is shown to be able to easily persuade the hyenas. This is a great new addition to The Lion King saga. Disney Villains: Scar #1 showcases Scars ruthlessness without making the reader feel sympathy for him. So many stories want to make us feel sorry for the villains, but this makes sure to keep Scar as the evil creature that he is, all the while showing new layers to his character. In fact, this story even shows more potential reasons for his motivation to kill and usurp Mufasa. There are also hints of whats to come. What do you think will happen next, and how might it connect to the events of the movie?

Batman: One Bad Day Ra's al Ghul #1 presents a fascinating look at one of Batmans most formidable foes. It showcases both his ruthlessness and empathy, believing himself to ultimately be doing the right thing. Yet, this is also a story about Batman too, and how his compassion is juxtaposed to Ras Al Ghul. Damian recognizes the difference between how both his father and grandfather operate, and chooses to side with the former. In his own way, Ras is also committed to preserving life, even though he uses unethical methods.

Gargoyles #4 is exciting, and leaves readers guessing as to the identity of Goliaths attackers, as well as the young couple captured in the park. If youre a fan of Darkwing and Morganas relationship, you are sure to love Darkwing Duck #3, but if youre expecting a lot of action, this issue is not for you. Batman: The Adventures Continue Season Three #3 is a good expansion upon DCAU lore, exploring new characters and further connecting Batman the animated series to the rest of the DC animated universe. It also explores new characters and brings back minor characters from the show. Beyond that, there is a new iteration of the Suicide Squad, no doubt to be explored more in future issues. Batman: The Adventures Continue Season Three #3is must-read for fans of the classic DCAU version of Batman, especially those who are interested in seeing new characters added to the mythos.

The pacing in this issue could better. The action in fighting Quackerjack and his toys is exciting, but after Quackerjack is defeated, the ending seems a bit anticlimactic, and it could be difficult to follow without the dialogue. The story flows well, for the most part, but the ending seems kind of abrupt and out of the blue, not really being hinted at earlier. That being said, it seems appropriate that Drake changes into Darkwing in a photo booth, playing at his massive ego. Quackerjack could have had a bit more dialogue though. You can definitely hear the voices of Jim Cummings, Michael Bell, Terry McGovern and Christine Cavanaugh coming through the dialogue of their respective characters.

The dialogue is well-written, and Greg Weisman truly proves himself to be a masterful storyteller. The characters voices come through and you can hear the voices of Keith David, Bill Fagerbakke, Tim Curry, Jonathan Frakes and others come through the dialogue as you read it. We see the themes of the preciousness of life, and the importance of protecting ones family, as Broadway emphasizes through his narration.

Batman: Beyond the White Knight #8 provides a great sendoff for this story of the bat-family and the re-imagined Batman Beyond origin, and also leaves the door open for future spinoff stories featuring cameos from a few Justice Leaguers at the end. It gets to the heart of who Batman is, both the character of Bruce Wayne, his legacy, and the symbol of the Dark Knight, and what that ultimately stands off. Murphy did a fantastic job telling this story.

Gargoyles #2 is an exciting story that shows us new characters and brings back some more old characters, leaving great potential for more stories to be explored than were on the show. Hopefully we will find out what side Xanatos is on, as well as Brooklyns lover, and the relationship between Tony Dracon and his sister. Gargoyles fans, where do you think the story will go from here, and what could Thailog want with Maggies child?

Batman: the Adventures Continue Season Three #1 was a stellar first issue and could possibly be considered to be the best of this series thus far. Amazing artwork, and a story which foreshadows things yet to come in a way that grabs readers and keeps them hooked for more. Damage Control #4 is a funny book and those who are fans of Marvel villains and appreciate goofy humor will enjoy this book. Eugene is where most of the humor comes from. The villain interviews are reminiscent of something like The Office in the way they are depicted. This issue employs the use of humor well by showing nerdy characters attempting to be intimidating.

Batman: Beyond the White Knight #6 is a solid, well-developed issue. Despite not featuring Terry this time around, it presents good character development for Bruce, Dick, and Harley, as well as the intimidating introduction of Blight, with a cliffhanger to leave readers on the edge of their seats until next issue. Hopefully, Terry will return next time. What do you think will happen next?

Batman: One Bad DayPenguin #1 is really a story about Oswald Cobblepot finding true friendship, more than it is about Penguin regaining his criminal empire. He doesnt fit in with society because of his looks, and he wants to be around people who will accept him, warts and all. It shows the Penguin in a sympathetic light, and many readers may be to relate to this aspect of his story. Overall, it was a good spotlight on this classic Batman villain and expanded upon the Penguins character in a fresh, new way.

Although there are some continuity errors in The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #1, it still gives readers a fun and compelling story featuring a spotlight on more obscure characters like the Batmen of all nations. Bat fans will even notice a reference to the more modern Batman Incorporated at the end. Batman and Scooby-Doo are two iconic characters that have teamed up several times. The Jurassic League #5 had some great fight scenes and good character development for the major heroes. It sets up the final confrontation between Darkyloseid and the entire Jurassic League for the next issue, and it gives us motive for why the heroes are inspired to fight evil. It does leave you wondering if Jokerzard will end up having a bigger role, or if he only thinks he will. What do you think will happen in the conclusion?

Batman Beyond: Neo-Year #6, and the series as a whole, presented a fresh new take on Batman Beyond, seeing him work without Bruce, become his own hero and meet new allies and adversaries along the way. The only downside is the lack of characters from the show. There wasnt really much explanation as to what happened to them, but it still made a good story and stayed true to the feel of the show and the title character. Readers can expect more of Batman Beyond in the future, is the ending reveals that this series will continue next year. Schway!

The Jurassic League #4 is exciting in that it is leading towards the thrilling conclusion and it reveals the big bad, but it doesnt really offer too much action like in previous issues. It definitely will leave readers wondering how the Leagues confrontation with the big bad will go, especially since this is more of an Elseworlds tale, so it may be somewhat different from what were used to. What do you think will happen when the League confronts this major villain?

While Batman Beyond: Neo-Year #5 is kind of slow in terms of the lack of action, which may be disappointing for some readers, it grounds the characters more, specifically Terry, making him more understanding of who Batman is supposed to be. There doesnt seem much chance to see other Batman Beyond characters turn up in the final issue next month, but it sure seems like Lumos may have something more up his sleeve. What do you think will happen in the conclusion?
