While the story is a bit familiar, it is a still a welcome one. With nods to the oldies, but also having a nice set-up for future issues of the series. Bendis succeeds in giving us enough meat to keep us satisfied but also teases us enough where we come back for next issue. The set up looks ripe for that gut punch that REALLY makes this story worth reading. Recommend.

All New X-Men does good this week by picking up more steam as the story moves forward. Bendis writes like he's been here before while also adding his own touch to the series. This is a great story to pick up if you haven't chosen a NOW title yet. Recommend

All New X-Men is a good book, and while the issue does have a nice ending, the rest of the issue suffers from misrepresentation of certain characters and sometimes confusing art and dialogue. This title can do better as evident by the 1st 2 issues, but the end of this issue looks to put things back in friendly territory.

All New X-Men continues to roll on in a good way. More plot points are set up and more characters are being fleshed out and explored, and some we can see will drastically change as the events play out.

The starts must have aligned when the plot for this book was being talked over. Each issue gets better and better, as more and more elements are introduced to the 1st class as they struggle to make sense in a world that fell so short of their original dream. Alot of familiar themes are present; while also adding new things to the table. The journey for these kids feels surreal as everything they believed in continues to be challenged as they see things don't work out how they planned, some more than others.

All new X-Men continues to be one of the best comics Marvel has to offer right now; and I look forward to continuing the story even further.

All New X-Men is still one of the best NOW titles and it is easy to see why, Bendis is really telling this story of time-placed kids well and it is going to be a treat to see how the story continues from here.

All New X-Men is still a great read and is one of Marvel's best NOW titles in my opinion. While #8 doesn't have the same punch as the previous issues it is still worth a look and sets up a few more plot elements. Such as next issue which will surely tie-in to Bendis' Uncanny X-Men Series.

All New X-Men #10 is a bit better than last issue, and once again focuses more on plot development than all out action. This is one thing Bendis is good at (see Age of Ultron for reference) his stories, while containing suatainable action, are a slow build; but they usually lead to a worthy pay off, which I'm sure this one will follow in suit.

If Avengers succeeds the most in one area, it is scale. The book is big, it feels big, with a nice set up, familiar characters, newer characters and it's epic presence. In terms of an introductory issue, it also succeeds in every avenue, finding a way to gain new readers, while also keeping the older ones hooked at the same time. Balancing both the movie and comic ideas, while also crafting a smart story. Highly recommended.

The second of character “stand-alone” stories, Avengers is still a great read. With plenty of character development, action, and sub plots that will leave you coming back for more; Avengers is a definite read.

Avengers #7 is another good offering from Hickman and the ending is a nice harbinger of things to come. Such as this final line: “Why are there only certain types of people that were given the starbrand? It's a planetary defense system…defending a planet requires having the ability to break one. Now imagine that power in the hands of someone who has pent his whole life being ignored.”

While not too much happens this issue, it is clear that the other shoe is about to drop quickly, and the plot points are sure to come back into the story full force as more implications from the “White Event” are explored. Next issue an “old friend” returns, we will see what role he will play in the chaos.

So does Avengers Arena deserve the hate that has followed it? No, it is a pretty decent issue with a nice set-up, high stakes, and a sense of fear and anxiousness about what will happen to these characters. Is the premise a good one? Oh hell no, but Hopeless does a decent job with the material and Kev Walker's pencils are pretty good to look at. The story isn't good, but it's not bad either. The book seems like it could get better from here (despite the wrongful/meaningless deaths) & against my better judgement, I would recommend it.

Avengers Arena is still a pretty good series, and with each passing issue it continues to dig itself out of the hole it was in before it's release. I can now say with issue 3 this book is a recommended read (Please don't kill me fans)

Avengers Arena is gearing back up and it will be interesting to see how some of the new alliances and revelations will pay off.

As the 1st arc wraps up, Hopeless draws us back in with a few alliance shifts, a death, and a new gaming element. As the kids struggle to survive, it is going to be see where Hopeless will take us next and who will be the next one added to the kill count. Also, will ANYONE figure out how to get them off the island?

Avengers Arena #8 is a good start to the next story arc. Characters are growing desperate, alliances are formed, and secrets come to light. As this comic rolls on, the winner of this contest becomes more and more blurred.

Avengers Arena #9 is another good issue to the controversial series and could possibly be the best issue of the book so far. Hopeless keeps things interesting with each new twist and turn implemented and Kev Walker's pencils match him beat for beat. This issue hits the right emotional chords and the final panel, is a haunting harbinger of things to come from someone who is much more dangerous than Arcade.

This was solid 1st issue, with a nice setup, great art, great characters, and overall great atmosphere. We get a double-sized issue with tons of intrigue and story to it. This is sort of like a comic book version of Dexter which I think is pretty nice. The tagline asks: "Is Evil just something you are or something you do?" either way I'll be strapped in and reading this book looking forward to the answer.

While the synopsis doesn't say much, Bedlam continues to be a good series, this issue being a bit more focused than the first. Giving insight some insight into the Doctor, who appears to be another important element in the story. Recommended

Bedlam is still an excellent series, filled with mystery and intrigue. It will be interesting to see how Fillmore Press will continue to adjust to normal life; and more importantly, if anyone will find out about his dark past.

Bedlam #6 is another great addition to this awesome series. The characters are refreshing, the story is moody and dark and the art is phenomenal. The issue ends with a haunting reveal that will surely come back in future issues. I highly recommend this issue and this series.

While the dialogue is a bit clunky, it's not really a BAD comic just decent. The art itself makes up for some of the books hang ups, but not by much. If you like just straight action with not a lot of text to slow you down, this is enough to keep you entertained.

Cable & X-Force is nothing spectacular like other NOW! offerings, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, just average. The first issue does it's job well enough, setting up most of the team, and having a decent enough end where you want to pick up the second issue. Even with the little plot inconsistencies. If you are a fan of the characters, i suggest it, newer fans made need a bit more to latch on to though.

Captain America #1 is a great relaunch effort for the classic character, heading a bold new area that hasn't been explored in previous installments. Remender & Romita Jr. make a great team and have found a good balance of story telling and art. The opening chapter of the “Dimension Z” saga is a good one. Recommended

Captain America #2 hits another one out of the park with it's great script & excellent artwork, this new take on Cap is a welcome read.

While not as good as the 1st 2 issues, Captain America is still a solid series with good action and dramatic moments. The “Dimension Z” saga is ripe with danger and desperation; and with each issue Steve loses more and more hope of finding a way out.

While Captain America #5 is not as good as it's predecessors, it is still and enjoyable read that marks Cap's return by the end of it as the “All American Bad Ass” (Sorry Undertaker).

Change is definitely a book that blends the art in the story together to create it's atmosphere, while it does the story part well, the art leaves a bit to be desired. Regardless, the first of this mini-series is a relatively solid one and I recommend it.

Change is a different but really confusing read, filled with random characters and random plot elements, the narration beats you down, and the dialogue is not all that engaging. It does however seem to fit to a specific crowd. There is something here, but you have to wade through alot to get to it.

This is another strong title coming out of the Marvel NOW! relaunch. Deadpool is a funny, action-packed, and bloody book that will appeal to old readers and attract new ones as well. Recommend.

Deadpool continues to be a crazy, fun ride. With plenty of action, comedy, and appeal to keep you coming back for more. One of Marvel's strongest NOW! titles.

Focusing a bit more on plot in this issue, Deadpool still continues to be a good read, but the weak writing, weak action scenes, and awkward moments overshadow the good in this issue. While the magic that made issues one and two so good have faded a bit, they are by no means gone. I still recommend this book.

The story is pretty engaging, and while the art ranges from weak to decent, it doesn't drag down the book's quality that much. I recommend it.

While trying to create tension, suspense, & action, Epic Kill comes out as a bit clustered and boring. The writing is a bit weak, not adding anything to the overall story and having more padding than actual plot development. The art is also hard to look at in some spots, weakening the book.

Epic Kill #9 was an enjoyable issue and set-up a hell of a cliff hanger for the climax of the series in issue 10; I am anxious to see how the story of Song will end.

Overall, a pretty good number one issue. Establishing the main character well, with enough mystery and intrigue surrounding him to keep you coming back for more, and having enough appealing yet horrifying imagery to keep you entertained. If your new to "Evil Ernie", like me, you'll enjoy this, if you been with it since the beginning, this a reboot worth checking out. Recommended.

This series continues to pick up speed, exploring our protagonist's new powers as well as his past and why he is doing what he is doing. Just as the title of the issue says, this series is “Just warming up”.

While it is a good number one issue with nice set ups, there is nothing really here to latch new readers on to the book. Seemingly written for those who were already fans of the series, not really adding any new elements to gain a new readers attention. This is where the book tends to fall a bit short of the mark. If your a fan of the FF you will like this, newcomers to the series may not feel the same attachment though.

While FF really doesn't set up much besides the team this issue, it is still an enjoyable read with nice dialogue and art. Although the story itself may have been suited as a back up feature rather than a full comic. If you have followed FF pick this up, but newcomers are also welcome as well.

5 Weapons #3 is an enjoyable book and one I recommend to pick up and read. It will be interesting to see how our intrepid young protagonist will survive this deadly academic

This is easily one of the standout books at DC, with good characters, solid story and excellent pacing. This creative team will keep you entertained and excited along the way as not one moment feels like it's been dragged on too long or moved through too quickly. You won't be disappointed by Green Lantern #14.

While basically a super-sized origin story Guardians 0.1 is still and excellent tale chronicling the story of a boy who was forced to grow up too early, and accept an incredible journey and destiny thrust upon him. I am excited to see where this book goes.

Guardians #1 sets out what it aimed to do for a 1st issue. By introducing the characters, setting up the world, and how this random assortment of criminals, trees, racoons, runaway princes and Iron Men. This is nice opening and is highly recommended for fans of the team, or those interested in the upcoming movie.

Guardians of The Galaxy #2 is another good helping of space adventure goodness. Keeping the references in there for vets as well as explaining it to newcomers. It set up some good plot pints which will no doubt pay off in later issues, and i highly recommend this series.

Indestructible Hulk is a nice start to a new series, with a good introduction and theme. Although the art is a bit clunky, it isn't enough to distract you from the story altogether. I recommend this for Hulk fans and those looking to get into the character.

Iron Man is a pretty enjoyable read for fans of the character. Kieron Gillen has started the book off pretty good so far and I'm anxious to see how this five part arc plays out.

All in all while the dialogue may be a bit off at times, it is still a very enjoyable, with a nice story and gorgeous art. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys superhero books. Pick this up, but start from the beginning.

Despite a few confusing moments and narrative hiccups It Girl & The Atomics is still an enjoyable series with distinct characters, nice, sometimes big environments, a visually appealing art style and plenty of action and humor to keep you entertained,. While this issue fell a bit short of the mark, I still recommend this book for superhero story lovers.

The first story arc of the series ends with more of a whimper than a bang, but it manages to wrap everything up well enough to still be an enjoyable story. I still recommend it.

A solid opener to a what is sure to be a fun two-parter, It Girl & The Atomics is definitely a fun read from young kids to adults. How will It Girl's first solo mission go? Have to wait till next issue to find out.

It Girl & The Atomics #8 is another fun ride from this creative team. With it's fast paced action, spot on humor, colorful characters, and overall throwback feel. This is one comic that people should be reading.

“It Girl & The Atomics” #10 is another fun issue that sets up the next story arc well enough. The dialogue continues to be fresh and the art remains consistent for the most part, making the book a fun ride from start to finish. This is definitely a book to be read.

Journey Into Mystery has taken another new direction and once again it works, Lady Sif is a character who hasn't really had a chance to shine as much as her ex-love and his brother. So it is nice to see her get the spotlight as she proves in issue one that she carry her own title. Good introduction and good art for another strong NOW! title, recommended.

Journey Into Mystery continues to be a fun ride full of action & humor, with some drama sprinkled in for good measure.

Journey Into Mystery #650 brings satisfying end to Sif's 1st arc as main character of the series. Kathryn Immonen does a great job of telling her first story in the book, fraught with action and self-discovery. Schiti & Bellaire also excel at keeping the story viasually appealing to go along with the fluid story (even it was a little rocky at times). I look forward to the next “Journey” Sif goes on as the series moves forward.

While the hiatus did hurt the book some, Mud Man still continues to be a pretty enjoyable read. With a couple humorous moments, and good characters, the story continues to set a nice pace for itself.

While not as grandiose or epic feeling as Avengers, New Avengers still has enough good moments to deem it a worthy read. Jonathan Hickman obviously has a certain agenda with this comic and the 1st issue does a decent job of setting up the threat posed in it, and the cast of characters is diverse enough to form some interesting team dynamics. There is a good story bubbling to the surface, it will just take an issue or two for it to really shine through.

Things are starting to roll forward in this book, and the scale keeps getting bigger; which is a stark contrast to Hickman's Avengers story which was big from the jump. New Avengers is a slow build with an incline similar to a roller coaster; slowly climbing to the top with the big “drop” coming soon. It is a different feel compared to Bendis' run, but it is still an enjoyable read.

This issue New Avengers was certainly a step up from the previous 2 as the book seems to be finally getting it's feet on the ground. The talking is over, it is time for serious action and next issue teases that they may have to seek help from a devourer of worlds to get the job done.

New Avengers has waned a bit in contrast to last issue. While the elements are still present, they seem to be fumbling around a bit. Hopefully next issue can pull things back together a bit better.

New Avenger's #5 is another decent issue, but I can't find myself getting as excited as I 1st was about the series. That being said I still recommend it to those who like sci-fi stories and alternate realities with a methodical pace.

New Avengers #6 is a pretty well written issue. While the Maker stuff is a bit confusing, the dialogue flows well and the art is still consistent. We even get a small call back to Hickman's Avengers series which is warranted as the series will eventually collide due to Marvel's upcoming Infinity event.

Repossessed is fun book so far, with nice ideas, and a good opening mystery. Though this series will only run for 4 issues, the 1st issue is good enough to make the next 3 issues worth checking out.

Repossessed #3 tried to cram too much into one issue (which is the problem with min-series at times) and it makes for a very fast-paced yet confusing story to follow. Hopefully the last issue will turn things around.

All in all Repossessed was an enjoyable series, but it started to fall apart near the end. While it had some good ideas, the execution was off in places and alot of random events happening with no explanation bogged the story down. The last page was interesting however if a bit bittersweet, and hopefully this story will be able to continue in some capacity someday.

Savage Wolverine is average at it's core, nothing really detrimental to the iconic hero, but nothing worth making you stay. Cho is a great artist, but his script struggles to achieve spectacular heights. Lots of unnecessary narration and exposition derailed my interest in the overall plot, but if you are a fan of Logan or Shanna you might like this.

Now being the brain trust that I am, I don't know what all this is going to lead up to, but it will be an interesting (albeit methodically paced) ride to say the least. Pieces are placed on a proverbial table and it is only a matter of time before we see how they are arranged.

Fearless Defenders #1 shows that the book certainly has promise and shows that Bunn is willing to take chances, but doesn't overexert himself. The characters introduced and are likeable; the story is drenched is mystery, and the fight scenes are exciting. Fearless Defenders is definitely a book to watch out for, and adds to the list of other good Marvel titles with female leads (The others being Captain Marvel and the current Journey Into Mystery).

Fearless Defenders is starting to become one of those hidden gems in Marvels collection (Next to JIM & Captain Marvel), from the characters to the set-up, it is a nice tale that anyone can get into without much knowledge. I will certainly continue to follow this story as it continues.

Fearless Defenders #4 is another good issue that advances the story pretty well, and sets up next issue well enough, but it is still missing that push to make it standout in Marvel's NOW line-up. Despite a couple plot holes and awkward pencils, it was still a good issue and I continue to recommend this series to anyone who likes swords a sorcery.

The Pound is a delightful romp that seems to be picking up speed and suspense as the story moves along. I recommend it.

The Pound: Ghouls Night Out, is a pretty good mini-series with good action, characters and mystery. With another series of The Pound out of the way, I have to say that I will be waiting for the next volume. Recommended.

Thor: God of Thunder is an excellent start to Jason Aaron's tenure as the God of Thunders scribe. With each character he has written Aaron has managed to add a new dimension to each, and Thor is no exception. With Esad Ribic's pencils also giving excellent visual stimulation as well, this looks to be another one of Marvel's strong Now! titles. Recommend.

Thor: God of Thunder continues to impress. With it's stunning art and engaging story, this is clearly one of the standout titles to come out of the Marvel NOW! relaunch. If you aren't reading i suggest you start now. Highly Recommended

If you haven't followed the “Divided We Fall” & “United We Stand” events in the Ultimate universe this issue may be a bit of a chore for you to get into. On it's own the comic has had stronger issues, but is still good given that it is a tie-in issue. Elements from previous issue are still present which is a good thing, earning the comic a recommendation.

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man continues to be a very consistent series, and issue 19 looks like a great start for the next chapter in Miles' story as Spider-Man in the new year.

Venom War continues to be another good helping of what is perhaps an underrated Spider-Comic. It will be interesting to see who the new Venom is (if it's even human) and what connection it has to Peter (and to further extension Miles) as the story rolls on.

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #22 is certainly the best issue in the series so far. While the whole "Venom War" storyline was a bit iffy to start, this issue brought it right home; with big time consequences for Miles and his future as Spider-Man"if he has one.

Ultimate Spider-Man #28 is nice resolution to this arc of the story and sets up a lot of things to be expanded on, too bad Cataclysm is happening because I would have to see these plot points develop further. Although this ending will certainly please readers of the series.

While not a bad book, Uncanny X-Force finds itself caught under the weight of Remender's run on the book (which in my opinion was one of the best X-Men books in years), things are starting to fall together (albeit rather clumsily) and we will see where it goes from here.

Uncanny X-Force #3 is a step-up from it's predecessors and the book has certainly gained more footing with this issue. Nice brisk pace, limited but still fast paced action and great art, make this issue worth checking out. Things are starting to come together as we start to learn what happened to Bishop & why he wants Ginny.

Uncanny X-Force #4 sadly isn't as good as last issue. While it moved at a comfortable enough pace, it didn't take to time to explain or at least touch upon earlier plot points introduced in previous issues and the things that were touched on weren't fleshed out well. While still boasting some good art, it sadly overshadowed the story to a degree.

While better than last issue, “Uncanny X-Force #5″ is still behind in way of excitement. We are introduced to the force possessing Ginny, but have no means of motive yet. Also the Fantomex bits seem a bit shuffled and out of place as they don't appear in the issue until the end. The art however is still pretty good.

Uncanny X-Men continues to roll forward as Cyclops and his team continue to find somewhere to fit in the world as they form their own version of Xavier's dream.

Uncanny X-Men is still a good series but this issue was weighed down by pretty asinine dialogue. The X-Men are acting like children and the book as a whole is still being out shined by it's All New counterpart. Hopefully the series will pick back up in the coming issues.

Uncanny X-Men #5 is an improvement from the last two issues (mostly because a good chunk of the dialogue from 4 is in All New X-Men #10). This is still a solid comic and with the added element of Dormammu, the next issue should be a good one as well.

X-Men #1 is damn good starting issue to what looks to be one of Marvels best titles. The team is effective & engaging, the threat is real, and the dialogue is witty with some moments of drama and tension thrown in as well to balance it out. The art is stunning and as the whole the book is the epitome of a relaunch. I highly recommend this title and eagerly look forward to issue 2.

This is a nice jumping on point for readers, and fans of the character will like the book as well. While there a couple artistic hiccups, it is still a solid read. The title “Legacy” is a perfect as this story is a about living up to the memory of a parent and finding your own way in life. Recommend.

While not as strong as it's 1st issue (mostly due to the whole cast not being in it) YA is still an enjoyable read and nice pick up for fans of the original series. The art alone is enough to give this issue a buy.

Young Avengers #3 is another good helping of fun. More of the cast continues to creep in as the story continues on. The story is still entertaining and as always the art is still fantastic. Filled with fun characters, nice humor, and fluid action. This is another NOW title you should be reading.

Young Avengers #4 is another solid entry to a great series. You can say a lot about this book, but you can't say it isn't fun. With it's cast of characters, snappy writing, and spectacular art; this is definitely a book you should be reading. So go NOW!

Youngblood #75 really shows the books age, with a boring story, and outdated dialogue. None of the characters aren't really likeable or memorable, and the few magazine ariticles in the story just serve to grind whatever story is there to a screeching halt. If you have been following Youngblood since the 90′s you make like this issue, but to newer readers the comic is really outdated and doesn't hold up.
