A Venom-charged Donnie wages a brutal, one-Turtle war on the Foot Clan. Batman has to stop him and remind him of who he really is; someone who uses smarts-not brawn-to take down the bad guys. Damian and Raphael pay a visit to the Lazarus Pit to try and help a wounded Splinter. Then Batman tries to turn a former foe into an ally as part of a desperate attempt to finally end the reign of Bane.
My favorite time of the month has come. Batman / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II came out this week! The talented creative team of James Tynion IV, Ryan Ferrier and Freddie Williams II continues to bring one of the most fun stories being published. The fifth installment of the "A Knight in New York" finds Donatello on a Venom-fueled rampage against the Foot Clan. Donnie has been struggling with feelings of inadequacy and inferiority this entire story. Against the warnings of Batman and the Turtles (minus Raphael), Donnie hopes Venom will be the key to defeating Bane, The Foot Clan, and his own weakness. Meanwhile, the team is reaching out to the rest of the Bat-Family in Gotham to potentially use another dangerous substance to save Master Splinter. Read Full Review

More of what you'd expect from Tynion and Williams. When you combine Batman with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, you expect nothing short of great. That's what you're getting here. While I'm excited for the next issue, it also pains me that it'll be the last. The character interactions and development bring a smile to my face. Batman and TMNT work extremely well together and I sincerely hope that after this series there will be another chapter in this inter-dimensional crossover. While dialogue problems and pacing exist, this books art team hold the readers interest by drawing on what makes both Batman and TMNT the legends they are. Batman/TMNT II is fun just not as much fun as its predecessor was with a plot that feels like it wore out it welcome. Bane might be just too one note of a villain to in his portrayal here to carry the mini series however the cliffhanger brings a little bit of that promise back I had before this all kicked back off. Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #5 is basically a comic book version of those epic crossovers you had with your action figures when you were a kid. The plots don't always make sense, but it's really cool to see all of your favorite characters interact and fight each other. Read Full Review
This may be a case of drastically lowered expectations, but I still got some enjoyment out of this issue. It's not really great, choosing to have endless scenes of dialogue explaining things that have happened instead of just showing us what happened, but there are some bright spots to be sure. I liked the interactions between Batman and Donatello, with Donnie's heel turn built up to in a believable way, and Williams still proves to be the right artist for this book. As far as the series as a whole goes, it won't win you back over if you've already jumped ship, but it's an acceptable enough penultimate chapter. Read Full Review
I have no clue what myconius is whining about! The ONLY complaint I have is the Don's redemption should have been in the last issue.
Since last issue I a little disappointed by this arc. Ok what happen is logic for donnie with the new venom. And that wasn't easy to make him listen (Even a little long). But in a way I find it a little easy. Like for Splinter. So yeah we are at 1 floppy of the end, but I would have liked more about Splinter in Lazarus Rage. I also find a little short the encounter between April & Babs. For me they have so many connection. Leo liking the Nightwing's outfit was funny.
Cover - Nice cover & close to what I read inside. 1.5/2
Writing - Tynion IV maybe a little tired between that & Detective Comics. It's less fun than the first volume. 2/3
Arts - The arts is still amazing. I loved every bit of every panel. 3/3
