Terry McGinnis has his memories back, and he's ready to resume his duties as Batman in Neo-Gotham. But as soon as he comes home, so does Goliath, the Man-Bat pet of Damian Wayne. What adventure with the heir of the Demon lies in store for Batman Beyond?

Now that Terry is back in the Batsuit and we can leave all the False Face and Blight stuff behind us, this series feels fresh for the first time in a long time and all the changes that we see here, in not only location but in our main character's attitude feel like something that I can get excited about.  Not to mention, that the art is strong as hell in this issue.  If this series can keep up with this type of story-telling, this might actually become a series that I won't want to miss. This is the model of what an opening issue should be like. We get all the loose ends of the last arc addressed, but built on for even more action coming up. We get the characters in a snapshot of where the last events left them – be it Bruce Wayne's immense resources, or Terry's shaken confidence. Lastly we get the shock of a looming threat making me, and hopefully many, eager to read on. Here be dragons. Read Full Review

Batman Beyond #43 is a great jumping-on point for new readers, establishing a new status quo and introducing a new threat. Hopefully Elainna will soon be back in action as Batwoman. Terry is going to need all the help he can get against the threat of Zeh-Ro and the League of Assassins. Read Full Review

Batman Beyond #43 was another interesting addition to this series. As a longtime fan (of both Bruce and Terry), it's always fun trying to guess how far any one plot will go. I'm feeling that more than ever, with the introduction of a blast from the past. Read Full Review

The Batman Universe - James Remolde May 27, 2020

It is hard to rate the story, but the art does make this an enjoyable read. I am interested to see where this is going. I would like to see more Batwoman and more of a partnership between Terry and Elainna that I hope does not become a love interest for the two characters. Read Full Review

    Batman-News - Michael Escalante May 26, 2020

Batman Beyond #43 does just enough to return things mostly back to status quo and set the stage for the next storyline. Chen's pencils remain as strong as ever, but his page layouts take a step down and undercut some of the more intense argument scenes. It's a bit of a reset issue, but there's enough quality action and an interesting character turn in the form of a more violent Terry to make this chapter worth seeking out, especially for newcomers to the series. This issue by itself isn't much, but it's a nice little start to what could be a fun arc. Read Full Review
