Damage gets a new home: the Hall of Justice! The Justice League takes in former super-soldier Ethan Avery after their clash from last ish, and looks to train him to better use his powers. The lovefest ends quickly, though, when the League's tactics cause Ethan to have flashbacks to the military experiments that transformed him into Damage. Batman may be the World's Greatest Detective, but it might take more than a big brain to stop a power-house like Damage from setting his own path. And oh, what a path he chooses! Enter Damage: monster hunter!
Damage #13 was fairly to the point this time around. Ethan was given a choice in what came next for him, and he chose doing things the hard way. You can't fault him, but you also want to see him show a bit more growth too. Hopefully this new experience for Ethan and Damage is a step in the right direction. Read Full Review
I didn't like the inconsistency and also the mistake of having Batman being the one to order Ethan around. Damage needed a softer recruitment to the JLA, something that Batman is not necessarily known for! The art work is great and sharp! The characters are rendered in a great way, and I love the colors! With a book like Damage, they always deliver a battle. And each cliff hanger has been worth it, so we are now past a “Baker's Dozen” in issues, so make sure you go back and “re-read” to get started on this character! Read Full Review
Damage isn't offensive, it's always a quick read, and the art is fun to look at, however that's about all we get pretty consistently from Damage as a series. Not really any giant risks are ever taken to grab your attention. This issue he knocks around a tad out of character Batman a bit, before continuing onto the next step on his journey, hopefully to fight some dinosaurs. Damage as a series has never come together because it's never given us any reason to care about Ethan Avery or his ongoing conflict with Damage. But the bigger problem is that the series keeps on bringing in guest stars, and gets them wrong too. Read Full Review
As much as I've complained about having big-name guest stars in the book, the juxtaposition of Batman as a sort of villain actually does a lot to advance the story. By the end though, it feels like just another issue stuck in the same stale circle. Read Full Review
