Much like what has been done to Harley Quinn over the years, Mirka's style lends a softer, more human, nuance to Killer Frost that round off some of the character's sharp edges. And with that, all that's left is to wait for the main attraction, Justice League of America: Rebirth #1, to be released in a couple of weeks. Really, this has been a whole month of setup, and I'm looking forward to see where all of that will lead. Despite its difference from them, I still think you should check this out if you've been enjoying the other JSA one-shots. Additionally, if you've been following Justice League Vs. There's a lot to like in this book though it could have used a page to expand more on some recent things going on with the character for those of us that haven't kept up with her recently. Orlando and Houser cover the basics well here by giving her origin a brief piece and focusing more on her powers and how they operate combined with the test that Waller is putting her through in order to show us what kind of person she is at this point. It's a smooth and fun read that delivers the character ready made for the new book. It left me enjoying it while also really digging Mirka Andolfo's artwork. I'm a huge booster of her material on Bombshells and some of her smaller publisher work over the years so I'm definitely glad to see her in a more "mainstream" book to explore different things. The more Bombshells work the better, but this has me once again excited to see what she has coming up next. Good stuff all around. Read Full Review

While you might be a jerk like me and initially think that this issue is just another of the many tales of Killer Frost's redemption....... Well, you'd be right, but change that dismissive mug of yours because this story is actually a great bridge from the Justice League Vs. Suicide Squad event leading into the JLA book next month and really shows the growth of the character, while depicting it with great art.   Read Full Review

Its a shame too, because I think there are some good ideas to this character. I wish her last name wasnt Snow because thats way too on the nose even for DC (plus it makes me think shes one of Ned Starks bastards), and I wish pretty much the entire plot were different, but I guess on the whole this book is no more offensive than any other bad DC Rebirth issue. I'm not a fan of Steve Orlando's writing in most cases of anything I read from him. Night of the Monster Men and JLA: Atom Rebirth were the only ones I have really enjoyed, hopefully his JLA will be better as Hitch's Justice League is also not very good. Read Full Review

Okay start to a Justice League of America character, but this issue as a whole felt unnecessary. I will enjoy the JLA comic, but I felt that this was not as strong as that will be.

The story follows Frost thru some very tortuous last days at Belle Reve thanks to Waller wanting her to crack under pressure to retain her; it is an ok story as it doesn't have much juice to it and it only reiterates what we learned from JLvsSS event where Frost said she wants to be one of the good guys; however, the ending when Batman finally shows up to welcome Caitlin to the free world shows some flashbacks to these lasts days that can be interpreted either in a good or bad way concerning Frost's efforts to be a good guy which all will make for some interesting issues in JLA

Unfortunately, the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA spotlight prequels ended with the weakest.
