SPINNING OUT OF THE PAGES OF JUSTICE LEAGUE VS. SUICIDE SQUAD! What happens to a super-villain on their last day in Belle Reve Prison? Against all odds, Killer Frost is up for parole from the Suicide Squad, but you can bet Amanda Waller isn't going to make it easy for Frost to join the new JLA.

I really had no idea what to expect out of this story and its made me so much more excited to read more about Caitlin and Justice League of America. You should be reading this one-shot yesterday, and youre never going to regret having it in your longbox. I hope this means something vitally new for the character, and that the little seeds planted at the end of the story, reminiscent of the long-form storytelling of older cape comics, end up becoming something more critical later on. While Id love to read this as a Caitlin solo, JLA Rebirth: Killer Frost definitely looks like it points to. Read Full Review
Much like what has been done to Harley Quinn over the years, Mirka's style lends a softer, more human, nuance to Killer Frost that round off some of the character's sharp edges. In one issue, Orlando, Houser and Andolfo have been able to successfully reimagine and rebrand Killer Frost for the big leagues. Read Full Review
No longer a B-List character, Killer Frost will freeze Hell over in appeasing the her fans. Read Full Review
A superb, character-focused one-shot, this Rebirth title gives us a strong sense of just where Killer Frost's character will go from here. It's full of promise, and the artwork is so very on-point. Read Full Review
Killer Frost was the biggest question mark on the JLA team for me, but this issue goes a long way in proving she will be one of the more unpredictable and interesting members of the new team. Mission accomplished for this one-shot. Read Full Review
A successful transition from Killer Frost's role in Justice League vs. Suicide Squad into her new role on the Justice League of America. Caitlin Snow's internal battle to fight against the prejudice and judgment of others and set her own future continues the empowerment themes that Orlando and Houser created with each of these JLA:Rebirth one-shots. Killer frost is being set up to be the most interesting character in the new JLA series and I'm looking forward to seeing how the story develops, in general, as well as specifically how her character progresses. Read Full Review
And with that, all that's left is to wait for the main attraction, Justice League of America: Rebirth #1, to be released in a couple of weeks. Really, this has been a whole month of setup, and I'm looking forward to see where all of that will lead. Despite its difference from them, I still think you should check this out if you've been enjoying the other JSA one-shots. Additionally, if you've been following Justice League Vs. Suicide Squad, I'd recommend grabbing this as well. Because, it's really does feel like an epilogue of sorts to the whole event. Read Full Review
There's a lot to like in this book though it could have used a page to expand more on some recent things going on with the character for those of us that haven't kept up with her recently. Orlando and Houser cover the basics well here by giving her origin a brief piece and focusing more on her powers and how they operate combined with the test that Waller is putting her through in order to show us what kind of person she is at this point. It's a smooth and fun read that delivers the character ready made for the new book. It left me enjoying it while also really digging Mirka Andolfo's artwork. I'm a huge booster of her material on Bombshells and some of her smaller publisher work over the years so I'm definitely glad to see her in a more "mainstream" book to explore different things. The more Bombshells work the better, but this has me once again excited to see what she has coming up next. Good stuff all around. Read Full Review
While you might be a jerk like me and initially think that this issue is just another of the many tales of Killer Frost's redemption....... Well, you'd be right, but change that dismissive mug of yours because this story is actually a great bridge from the Justice League Vs. Suicide Squad event leading into the JLA book next month and really shows the growth of the character, while depicting it with great art. Read Full Review
Killer Frost is going to be a member of the Justice League of America. I think she will be a welcome supporting cast member. Her moral issues will surely cause a lot of tension and issues. That should be a really fun and interesting book. Read Full Review
Its a shame too, because I think there are some good ideas to this character. I wish her last name wasnt Snow because thats way too on the nose even for DC (plus it makes me think shes one of Ned Starks bastards), and I wish pretty much the entire plot were different, but I guess on the whole this book is no more offensive than any other bad DC Rebirth issue. This one-shot isn't terrible, but it is a below-average comic. Read Full Review
I'm not a fan of Steve Orlando's writing in most cases of anything I read from him. Night of the Monster Men and JLA: Atom Rebirth were the only ones I have really enjoyed, hopefully his JLA will be better as Hitch's Justice League is also not very good. Read Full Review
I think a story of killer frost reforming would be interesting. I loved her in justice league vs suicide squad ecspecially with her interaction with Superman.
Okay start to a Justice League of America character, but this issue as a whole felt unnecessary. I will enjoy the JLA comic, but I felt that this was not as strong as that will be.
The story follows Frost thru some very tortuous last days at Belle Reve thanks to Waller wanting her to crack under pressure to retain her; it is an ok story as it doesn't have much juice to it and it only reiterates what we learned from JLvsSS event where Frost said she wants to be one of the good guys; however, the ending when Batman finally shows up to welcome Caitlin to the free world shows some flashbacks to these lasts days that can be interpreted either in a good or bad way concerning Frost's efforts to be a good guy which all will make for some interesting issues in JLA
Unfortunately, the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA spotlight prequels ended with the weakest.
