Before the "Trial of the Amazons" fully transfixes the ensemble of Nubia and the Amazons, the miniseries had to bring its conflict with Medusa with a head " and did so with a pretty epic flair. Read Full Review
The creative team have found a really good rhythm together. Its really too bad that the series isnt going to be around for much longer. With any luck, The Trial of the Amazons turns out to be a hit for DC, and theyll end up exploring further adventures with Nubia and company once the dust settles at the end of the crossover. As for the moment, its satisfying to see Nubia & the Amazons find its momentum. Read Full Review
This mini-series continues to be impress with a fierce battle between Queen Nubia and Medusa, ultimately leading to the themes of compassion and forgiveness that is vital to the Wonder Woman franchise. I'm devastated that there's only one issue left, but I hope that Nubia (and the new additions to Themyscira) continue to gain spotlight post-Trial. Read Full Review

Nubia & the Amazons #5 is a good end to a series that added a lot of new elements to Amazon and its many interesting characters. Nubia & The Amazons #5 finishes the arc with a lot of Medusa character growth, a little bit of Nubia character growth, and no answers surrounding the mystery of the Well of Souls. This was a weak attempt if the point was to build up Nubia. If the end was to make a statement about redemption and forgiveness that has little to do with Nubia, you get that here. If the point was to tell a complete story about essential changes on Themyscira and the lives of the Amazons, look elsewhere. Read Full Review
Despite the amazing art and even though I enjoy Alitha Martinez's fight scenes there was some impact missing. Medusa was so amazingly drawn, I expected a brutal fight and while some scenes work well, like when the staff transforms, I wanted a bit more.
But even with that complaint, the story works and especially Doom's Doorway looks amazing. The tensions are rising and I can't wait to see how everything comes to a head in Trial of the Amazons.
This was a pretty good conclusion to this series that really felt like a ton of build up with less convincing pay off. It went quickly, and I did like Medusa, so I can't complain too much.
