Sonjas recent exploits have been hit-or-miss. Shes such an interesting character, but its all too easy to simply fling her at a conflict and allow her to swing her way through it. Or maybe theres a premise for a series that seems to force her into being a supporting character in her own book. Thankfully, this new series looks like its going to be very well-balanced. Grnbekk is one of the best contemporary writers working in the sword-and-sorcery genre for the comic book industry. Her work with Thor and Jane Foster for Marvel had been particularly impressive. Her Red Sonja for Dynamite joins a Carnage that shes going to be doing for Marvel, which should be really interesting too. Read Full Review

RED SONJA (VOL. 7) #1 is a practically dead-solid perfect start to a new Red Sonja adventure against corrupt leaders and dark forces grown strong on innocent blood. The tone, style, and vibe feel like a proper Robert E. Howard adventure, and the art is an excellent match. Read Full Review

This is probably the best Red Sonja book I've read in a long time and the art is really good. It harbors back to the some the art from the original book. Her expressions are great escpecially at the end in the bar scene. I like how they thought she was a hooker and sent her up to the bishop's bedroom. The villain seems menacing and I'm excited to see where this goes.
The art have some good point (Huge background can be magnificent) and more problematics one (Sometime the characters' body can have mistake, and many panel have no background at all to gain time).
The story have 3 lead.
1) A priest who sacrifies a baby born just after the king death. Just because he feel his good leave them. And his soldiers his ok with that (Jerks).
2) Red Sonja who flee after been accused of murder. For someone who will kill a man in this books, I find funny that she's choke about been suspected (After all she was found with the body in her arms and Flee ... I miss issue 0)
3) Red Sonja is also spied on by a mysterious force ... Not one who seem to like her as he send the soldiers agains her, and with more
