SPACE GHOST #9 is a powerful, exciting conclusion to Space Ghost's fight against the villain who destroyed his family. David Pepose's script gives action/adventure fans everything you're looking for, times ten, and Jonathan Lau's artwork is superb. In every way imaginable, this issue takes what works about the original cartoon and gives it an upgrade. Read Full Review

    SciFiPulse - Ian Cullen Jan 24, 2025

David Pepose David Pepose wraps up this story arc with Space Ghost affirming that Jace, Jan, and Blip are not just his alliesthey're his new family, and anyone who messes with them does so at their own peril. This point is driven home by the sight of a thoroughly broken Metallus, crumpled on the floor and awaiting his fate at the hands of the Galactic Federation Authorities. While there's little doubt Metallus will resurface in the future, it doesn't feel like it'll be anytime soon. Read Full Review

Nerd Initiative - Richard Coryell Jan 15, 2025

Space Ghost #9 was a perfect culmination of the issues leading up to it. Super action packed, with a perfect period on the story of Metallus, for now. This issue has way more action than the last few issues, and slightly less build to the next. However, the fact that David Pepose let the finale of this arc get its own final issue was just what the doctor ordered. It also builds intrigue for issue #10 kicking off another chapter to this series. Read Full Review

    The Comicbook Dispatch - batfan1992 Jan 22, 2025

Space Ghost #9 wraps up this story arc nicely. Space Ghost gets excellent character development, which is highlighted as he does battle with Metallus. We see what he is fighting for and we can resonate with him, both in his rage and when he remembers his commitment to justice, one motivated by the loss of his old family, the other motivated by the gain of his new one. While Metallus certainly is an intimidating foe, he proves to be no match for a persistent Space Ghost, who shows that, despite being beaten, he is unwilling to throw in the towel until justice has been served. Comic Watch - Theron Couch Jan 23, 2025

Though Space Ghost hasnt been telling a long continuous arc, there is no denying that Space Ghost #9 feels like the end of the series first chapter. Part of that is the way that the text, art, and colors come together to sell a triumphant feeling that builds throughout the issue. Space Ghost #9 is a complete experience that immediately turns Space Ghost #10 into an impatiently waiting for must have. Read Full Review

The only thing disappointing about this issue was that it ended too quickly in my opinion. Metallus was developed to be a very strong villain and yet he was taken out in two issues. I would have preferred one more issue to build up the final fight a bit more. Pepose has the ability to create something for each of the characters to do and I really appreciate that. This is my favorite comic that is currently being published.
