With his wife's mounting medical bills Martin Dobbs is forced back into the mask. The first step to financial solvency: getting his crew back together. Unfortunately, his Wheelman makes a costly mistake and the job doesn't go quite as planned in a mirror of a real-life incident that nearly killed the writer in Boston back in 1994. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you money, that's what I always say!
This comic continues with good rhythm, I think the idea of ""end each issue like a chapter and leaving the suspense in the air is a touch that adds more emotion to the comic, I cannot wait for the next issue!!! Read Full Review
Dead Eyes has quickly become one of my favorite new indie titles of the year with this creative team's deconstruction of superhero tropes through the lens of an anti-hero. Read Full Review
An entertaining read featuring great art and writing, all I can hope for is that it makes use of its full potential as it progresses. Read Full Review
A fast and furious depiction of a former criminal forced by circumstance to go back to his bank robbing ways, Dead Eyes #2 is more than simply another crime thriller, but also a (admittedly shallow) examination of what people will do when they have no other options. Read Full Review
This second issue doesn't quite live up to the first, but in the art department, it continues to be stellar. Read Full Review
THE GOOD:
-This was just so much fun. It's nice to read a comic that just wants to entertain you with a fun story every once in a while.
-Dead Eyes is just an incredibly likable main character. Gerry Duggan seems to excel at writing compelling characters.
-I love this art. It fits the writing perfectly.
-This issue still got emotional and it was short, but really powerful.
-This humor is great. I might have to check out Duggan's Deadpool. I'm not a big Deadpool fan, but I can see how he would be a good writer for the character.
-Wheels is a great character.
-That car action scene was just wonderfully well-done, fun, and excellently illustrated.
THE more
A wild caper, and an emotional core. I love it.
I really like this, I dunno what it is but it sings to my soul.
I think I'm more into this the second time around. I don't know, I just thought this was really fun. And my interest is reinvigorated for issue 3!
It reminds me of criminal but has its own thing going on. The art is great for the story and I really think its very interesting. Each issue ended where you want to know what happens next.
