You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff Oct 18, 2024

The action holds quite a bit of impact. However, the drama that is driving, the conflict had a largely been concluded in the issues prior to the big finale. This is not to say that this issue is completely without its charm. Quite the contrary, in fact. Theres a great deal of work being done to set this particular series into the larger essence of the rest of the Energon Universe. Its going to be interesting to see how everything develops as the overarching universe continues to fuse G.I. Joe with The Transformers. Theres a great deal of potential in that particular crossover as more and more mini-series pop-up and the new G.I. Joe flagship series opens-up next month. Read Full Review

Destro #5 is a great conclusion to the miniseries with all-time writing from Dan Watters that provides the best miniseries yet within the entirety of the Energon Universe, setting up G.I. Joe #1 better than any of the books that came before. It's a fun read that, deep within it, feels like you're reading a Mission Impossible story. Read Full Review

Comical Opinions - Gabriel Hernandez Oct 16, 2024

DESTRO #5 is a frustratingly disappointing finale to the self-titled miniseries as the glut of new developments shoehorned into the previous issue are rushed through in this issue to make it all make sense. It's rare to see a creative team do such a poor job of spacing and pacing a story, but this is what poor planning looks like. Read Full Review
