The highly anticipated follow-up project from critically lauded EAST OF WEST artist NICK DRAGOTTA!
This ALL-NEW, EXTRA-LENGTH LIMITED SERIES teams artistic dynamo DRAGOTTA with rising-star writer CALEB GOELLNER (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: New Animated Adventures). When his megacorp power plant falls under attack by terrorists, the super-scientist who revolutionized and controls all energy on Earth sends his ultimate creation (and an adequate employee) in to destroy his most monstrous secrets.
I'm not surprised this team pulled this comic off so well. I was sold on the creative team, sold again on the preview images, and sold a third time when Comics Bookcase's editor, Zack, said I could do this very advanced review. This is no doubt going to be one of my favorite issues of the year, and the series will likely land on a similar list when it concludes in May. It's immense, funny, and gorgeous, while still telling a meaningful story. Read Full Review
Ghost Cage packs a nuclear punch with a video-game style story, lovable characters, and retro-style art that make this double-sized issue feel like a wind-powered breeze. With only two more issues in store for this mini-series, it's time to crank up your pull list (and your '90s thrash metal) to 11 for plenty of “Ohm-my-gosh” surprises. Read Full Review

We're dropped in the deep end without water wings, but the effect is engrossing and the art is remarkable. I'm looking forward to more of this book. Read Full Review
Ghost Cage #1 is a riveting first issue with a brilliantly cutting, at times darkly funny, self aware script that combines with superbly, dynamic, and brilliantly scaled art for an action packed kaiju style adventure that is also a damning indictment on the man's relationship with energy as well as corporate greed. It's a flawless series opener. Read Full Review
Ghost Cage #1 is a cool beginning for a new series. Dragotta and Goellner do a great job of sucking people in from the word go. It all feels familiar in its set-up and characters, a 90s cyberpunk manga, but its exciting and mysterious, which will definitely make a reader want to come back. Read Full Review
Ghost Cage #1 feels like the plot of a video game whose visuals are the main driver of entertainment. The plot makes a little more sense the more you read the comic but the overall plot is a bit… out there. Why do these secrets need to be destroyed this way? Why wasn't there planning before? What the hell is going on in the battles!? Sit back, turn your brain off and enjoy the visuals. Read Full Review
Ghost Cage #1 delivers a strong core story, likable lead, and excellent art style that is weighed down by its overbearing theme of corporate greed. Read Full Review
A comic I feel will take maybe a couple of issues to get into gear but the foundations have certainly be laid, it will be a case of waiting to see what will come next hopefully it will build the story up more as the potential is definitely there. Read Full Review
I could look at Nick Dragotta's art all day. His work along with Hickman on East of West made it one of my all-time favorite comics and he doesn't hold back here, giving us a gorgeous looking black-and-white gem. The story is a bit threadbare and focuses on the evils of capitalism and energy control/consumption in a literal way and under a lesser artist it probably wouldn't hold up. But Dragotta fills every page with energy, movement and a manner of scale that makes the whole book a hell of a lot of fun.
I'm excited to see what unfolds and am hoping for a few clever twists and turns to back up what will undoubtedly be one of the best looking books of the year.
Great art. Story just isn’t for me.
