G.I Joe #13 kicks off the Dreadnok War in a big way. The action is hot and heavy right from the jump and really pulls the reader in. There are four major forces at work in the current storyline. They could get really complicated really quickly. But in this particular issue, it all is being orchestrated with a deaf sense of drama and thematic composition on the part of everybody involved. There's a striking sense of simplicity about it that speaks to a more primal sense of drama and action. In a way this almost feels like the G.I. Tom Reilly is back, which means I have no complaints with the art. A lot is happening in this issue, and while I appreciate more content in times of decompressed storytelling, it feels that things are moving a little too fast. I think it would have benefitted the story if Williamson had given the reader some more time to digest the surprising twists and turns of this first part of Dreadnok War.
