Pranky—the world’s most dangerous kid scout—has been Mr. X-Ray’s nemesis since the novelty huckster arrived on Hyde Street. But for the first time, Pranky needs X-Ray’s help. The solution, however, lies in the hands of someone even more unsettling: Doctor Ego. Can the two sworn enemies survive a visit to Hyde Street’s most unnerving practitioner…and each other?
Hyde Street #8 may be one of the most important issues yet in this run, as it feels as though we are on the cusp of something truly horrifying. The art and story are seeing alliances form in ways we did not think would come and they may need these before long. Read Full Review

OverallThis is a fantastic issue that pushes the twisted rivalry between Pranky and Mr. X-Ray to new heights while introducing the sinister Doctor Ego. Next month promises even more, with an origin story that will dive deeper into what makes this new villain tick. I, for one, can't waitha ha ha ha! Read Full Review
As large as the ensemble is in this series, it's really interesting to see how it all comes together. And there really is a very patient sort of a pacing going on in the course of the series and it's ancillary titles. There are so many different avenues, which could plug into the background of Hyde Street. Add it would be way too easy to just try to cram everything together into single issues. Johns and company seem quite content to take their time telling good stories. Read Full Review
Reis creates beautifully detailed and dynamic art throughout the issue. I love the character designs and both Miki and Anderson brilliantly enhance the exciting visuals. Read Full Review
Hyde Street is in the midst of a fun arc linking all the characters together in a different manner than passing by and watching the scoreboard. This has been one of the Ghost Machine standouts and one that constantly keeps finding new ways to surprise readers. Read Full Review
HYDE STREET #8 delivers a solid, if swiftly paced, dive into the unsettling world of Hyde Street. While some narrative threads could use a bit more unraveling, the potent visuals and sharp character interactions make it a darkly entertaining read. It certainly leaves you wanting to know just how much more havoc Mr. X-Ray's novelties will wreak. Read Full Review

Mr. X-Ray's artifacts reveal parts of your being and show them to you. Pranky put on the mask and turned into the monster he is. Then he put on the glas more
This series has just been outstanding storytelling. I love the format, the world, the characters, the art, the writing, everything is just great. This issue, as each one before it, leaves me wanting more.
Another great story.Geoff Johns at his best with outstanding artwork to go along with a must read issue.
I like the conflict between Pranky and Mr. X-Ray. I have no idea where this story is going, however. Who am I supposed to root for here? Everyone here is bad, and I don't see them searching for redemption. They just become worse as time goes on.
