The start of one of the greatest super hero comics of modern times.
What started as some kind of hommage to the classic spandex costume hero genre, ended up being one the best stories I've ever read on the last couple of years. Pick it up read the first 12 issues and you will not be able to stop. Also Ryan Ottley has a fantastic art style.
I don't find the art to be that special. It gives the book a bit of a independent feel but I do enjoy the introductions to the new characters that we will get to know better in this series. Kirkman's writing is always pretty dependable.
It's simple and fine. Nice beginning. I watched the show back when it came out, but people recommended this comic to me since... maybe 2012. Now I'm finally here to read it. Well, the art might be too simple. I'm not a big fan of Ottley, but I think he'll be much better, than Cory Walker.
Solid. Easy to pick up, basic start to an origin. Walker's art isn't nearly as sharp as Ottley's.
