Sam and Duncan reflect on the first days of their adventure to save their daughter. The Cascade is getting stronger, and time is running out. Who will help them on this epic quest?
I am incredibly invested in this story. The Moon is Following Us both captures a child's imagination in scary ways and also plays into every parent's fears of something happening to their child. It's colorful and creative in every way possible and everyone should be pulling this each and every month immediately! Read Full Review
The Moon is Following Us #2 follows up its stellar debut issue with a sophomore installment that keeps up the momentum and the emotional investment, which bodes well for future issues. I've felt that the second issue is the toughest of a comic, because you have to make sure readers keep coming back, but Johnson and Rossmo have more than succeeded. Read Full Review
Rossmo delivers a truly magical world in this issue. I love the visual style and how it beautifully blends the reality of what the parents are going through with the fantastical world the need to explore. Read Full Review
Its an interesting concept that could continue to be a great deal of fun as the issues continue. Theres a powerful sense of action that shoot s across the page. Theres a real sense of danger...even in the gooey weirdness of Rossmos visuals. With all of the basics developed, the series could really fall into a generic high fantasy mode if Johnson and Rossmo arent careful. Its been a lot of fun so far, but it will be interesting to see where Pennys parents go from here. Theres great potential for exploring their relationship and their relationship with their daughter in the weird tableau of her dreamworld. Read Full Review
The Moon is Following Us #2 is a solid second issue that puts on the brakes in some ways and takes us back to the beginning. It answers a lot of questions while raising more. Overall, it builds upon the magical world of the first issue and delivers childlike wonder and fairy tale dread. Read Full Review
With The Moon Is Following Us #2 we get an emotional kick-off to the journey itself, which leaves the reader thirsty for what comes next. Read Full Review
Great art, great sense of wonder, great writing. Still loving this book. I think DWJ does a great job of capturing the urgency, panic and lack of patience a parent going through such a situation would display. Very relatable, for a comic about entering a child's dreams to join their toys' quest to save the child from boogeymen.
