Absolute Carnage: Lethal Protectors #2 actually gets around to bringing in the heroes we were teased to see on issues 1's cover. This book is an extra chapter for those who want to see some of the lesser Maximum Carnage heroes get enrolled in its spiritual sequel event, but it continues to be middle-of-the-road in the overall expansive Absolute Carnage tapestry. Every character speaks in the same style
I was less impressed by Demagoblin this time.
Prelude:
Well it's a Maximum Carnage reunion... only that the team didn't show up last issue.... In a three issue mini-series. See the problem?
The Good:
Hey, the team is finally together. That's something, right?
The Bad:
Pretty much everything else. It isn't offensive but it isn't interesting nor exciting either.
Conclusion:
With one issue left, my thoughts on this story is "meh".
It is pretty meh and doesn't feel like it has anything worthwhile in it. Just a another bland tie-in.
A good example of "conditionally acceptable" plotting: "Let's team up again because we teamed up in the last event" would be acceptable if the story was generally enjoyable. But here ...
