This one is purely a popcorn action issue. Not really a necessary addition to those of you reading Absolute Carnage, but maybe serviceable for those nostalgic for a little Maximum Carnage Lite. Read Full Review
With Misty safe, the team learns more about the plans which Carnage has in mind, but this so-so update will end just before fans get to any meaningful reveal about the baddie. Read Full Review
In conclusion this gives us a look at the chaos engulfing New York which has been skimmed over in the other series, brings back a whole host of characters familiar to readers from Maximum Carnage, and sets things up for an epic battle in Absolute Carnage #5. On the downside there is a lot, a lot, of references to older series that newer readers, or even less well read fans, might find confusing or off putting. Not essential reading, but recommended for more than just completionists. Casual fans of the main series can skip it though without missing out. (This is subject to change since Absolute Carnage #5 hasn’t been released, but I doubt it.) Read Full Review
Great cast. Fun book. Not a must read, but if you like Iron Fist and Misty Knight, definitely recommended. Or Cloak and Dagger, Deathlok, Firestar and John Jameson and Morbius.
" Carnages... Knull. They... Will discipline me. Will hurt me. They... They... Can go STRAIGHT TO HELL ! "
- MAN-WOLF
Prelude:
Lethal Protectors... well, it's been a thing that's for sure. Well, let's see how this tie-in series ends.
The Good:
Some interesting character decisions.
The Bad:
Art was poor as well as the dialogue.
Not much happened throughout the entire story.
If you so wanted to, this series could have worked as a one-shot.
Impact on Absolute Carnage was absolutely minimal.
Conclusion:
It exists but that's pretty much it. Like most tie-ins to Absolute Carnage, I would give this one a pass on buying.
The best thing about this issue is how Deathlok kinda looks like Deadshot from far away.
I'll be honest, I'm relieved this series didn't identify the shadowy organization Misty is working for these days. That makes it that much easier to leave it off any "essential Misty Knight reading" list.
Ouch this dialogue.
