A solidly entertaining issue for the second month in a row lends Next Gen the distinction of being one of the better (and possibly the best) of the Age of X-Man mini-series. Exciting characters are going through exciting things. The danger is right around the corner from everybody, and there isnt a character in this issue which isnt in over his or her head in ways that arent totally apparent to them just yet. Hopefully, Brisson and To can maintain this quality through the end of the series. Read Full Review
This book is a must read for anyone following Age of X-Man. It's so much fun and is a great read with beautiful art. I can't wait for the next book as this one raised my excitement for it and the event. This is a series not to be missed. Read Full Review
Nextgen is rounding into one of the best books in the "Age of X-Man." Read Full Review
A good issue that splits off a few of the characters down different roads. The unnerving nature of Age of X-Man is on full display and it's well told here. Read Full Review
We only seem to have scratched the surface of where Brisson and To are taking this story, having just come upon a generational divide between violent and non-violent means of resistance, but two issues into NextGen, and we're already hoping that it proves to be the pilot for an ongoing young X-Men series featuring these characters in the near future. "Age of X-Man: Nextgen" #2 is a welcomed turning point for the formulaic Age of X-Man crossovers. Read Full Review
Glob reveals he's immune to all the mind-wiping that underpins the Age of X-Man, putting him in a perfect position to watch it crumble. And the rebellious students are delivering the violent attack on the system that I crave. It's excellent writing work and it looks gorgeous; Nextgen is well on its way to being my favorite part of AoX.
I like the art and oh man the story that Brisson is building is just incredible. The connection with other "Age of X-Man" series is enjoyable. Glob is amazing. Solid issue.
I liked this a lot. Glob is the best.
Oh man, so much is happening!
THE GOOD:
-Glob and Armor are great. Separate, together, just fantastic characters.
-Marcus To is always good. This issue had great art.
-Anole is also a great character with a solid storyline and surprise.
-I'm excited to see where this goes.
THE BAD:
-Some of the cafeteria dialogue was annoying. As per usual with adults trying to write high school kids.
Cover - I love Bachalo, but it's not is best work. I understand the link with the story. 1/2
Story - It's interesting. I had trouble recognizing Armor once she cut her hair. I put that on the writer because I had to wait for Glob to tell her name. Before that I had no clue who she was. So I read again all the canteen moment. I also was disturbe by the way Paige Speak. She didn't have this south accent before ??? And for now there is no impact to the teachers asking for missing students. 2/3
Arts - Love it. That do the job. 3/3
Feeling - Mixed. It's interesting, and it's nice to see Maggott once again. I would have appreciated to know the name of the previous kids that was taken from the school. I wonder if Gabby isn't one of more
