Mar 04, 2026Joe Kelly & the entire creative team did a phenomenal job with the issue that should be at the top of your reading list this week. The issue is so good and is really cementing the fact that you do NOT want to miss out on a single issue of the Death Spiral story, because you’re sure to miss out on some incredible storytelling and memorable moments. Mar 04, 2026Loved this issue! Love the play on two stories at one time! You get to see Peter get thrown into a blender while Aunt May and Mary Jane have their fingers on the power switch. This is a story that will make you feel so many things for Peter. Remorse, but then a feeling of “you deserve this, Peter”! Fantastic read, so make sure you don’t miss out on this twenty-third issue of ASM! Read Full Review

Mar 10, 2026This was a fun issue and serves as a crossover with Venom #255, which I won’t be picking up. So I’m hoping whatever plot threads carry over into The Amazing Spider-Man #24 will still make sense without having to read that issue. Read Full Review

Mar 04, 2026Amazing Spider-Man #23 keeps Death Spiral moving with confidence, blending character-driven moments with high-impact action. Joe Kelly leans into Peter’s disorientation in a city that changed while he was gone, grounding the crossover in emotional fallout rather than spectacle alone. The Aunt May exchange lands with classic awkward Parker energy, while the Venom confrontation injects both humor and genuine shock. McGuinness brings dynamic layouts and expressive character work that elevate every beat, from rooftop chaos to quiet living room tension. The mystery around Torment continues to simmer, even if some readers may think they have it figured out. With strong momentum and meaningful character movement, this chapter feels like a crucial step forward in the larger arc. Read Full Review

Mar 04, 2026Death Spiral continues to take shape in this week's The Amazing Spider-Man #23, continuing to layer its story at a slowed pace, giving room to every major plot line in this crossover to breathe. While this leaves some major events a tad under baked, the overall thrill of this issue is so classic and fun its easy to look past the expectations one has for the meeting between Peter & MJ. Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez
Mar 04, 2026Amazing Spider-Man #23 finally delivers the promised MJ‑as‑Venom reveal and pairs it with a raw, uncomfortable reckoning between Peter and Aunt May, which gives this chapter more emotional traction than the wobbly #22 lead‑in. The art hits the sweet spot between bombastic and legible, and the core premise of a family‑targeting serial killer forcing Peter and MJ into a fraught alliance is strong enough that you can see the great story this could become if the pacing ever stops sprinting. The catch is that this issue is structurally dependent on Venom #255 for payoff and front‑loads a lot of crossover logistics, so if your pull list is tight and you are not ready to follow Death Spiral across titles, this is more an intriguing sampler than a complete meal. Omg it was good, I’m so happy. Solid story, no JRJR, and Venom YES I am one of those people.

If I had a nickel for every time the first big crossover of new ASM is horror related, with second issue marketed as Spider-Man vs Venom fight, drawn by Ed McGuinness and having Eddie as red murderous symbiote, I would have two nickels. That's not a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. This was pretty good. Something felt a bit off, I dunno. Ed's work is amazing, and I was surprised how much it fits here, when I am used to his stories being a bit more comedic. I liked very much that the tone was consistent with what was established (that Dark Web wasn't after that first issue) even if art style was different. Maybe I just wanted more. The plot could've progressed a bit faster, but I liked everything that this issue offered and I more

So Im guessing Joe Kelly watched the Japanese horror film Spiral and decided to take Spiderman on the same journey. People dying in deaths that all have to do with a spiral...the redeeming factor for me here is seeing Peter and MJ reconnecting...could a reunion be on the horizon? Personally, I don't like crossovers because they just feel like Marvel is trying to get you to buy all these other books...which of course is entirely their purpose here. Let's hope the story will prove to be interesting and eventful enough to make it worth our time and money.

So far it's not too bad. Is it great? I don't think so, but I'm here for it. Also can't wait to see the Carnage knowledge blow up.
