You would be hard pressed to find a comic more enjoyable than Ant-Man. I’m calling it right now, this is going to be an iconic Ant-Man run and maybe even the definitive one. Nick Spencer's run of Ant-Man continues to get better and prove itself worthy of the term "must-read." There's something oddly compelling about a man who would name his right-hand ant Tony Wilson (which, whatta riot) while taking a gravely serious approach to the upbringing of his own daughter. Scott's a man of at least two facets " the fact that his ego doesn't repel the reader is evidence of Spencer's solid characterization " and though he can be a doof more often than not, we're satisfied with the knowledge that Scott's motivated by what's best for Cassie instead of the almighty buck. While this issue seems to find a bit better ground to stand on for the series, it also shows that the direction isn't entirely set. Not every superhero comic has to be completely serious, but neither so can it be all jokes. It is somewhere in the middle that this series found its heart in the first issue, but it equally needs to be more serious when required as opposed to sacrificing pacing for dialogue which is not really funny and therefore only distracting. This series at times borders on being a fairly typical comic, but it verges on being something better at times as well. It is this potential which will bring the readers back, but the creative team seems to be squandering the interest in this title while it figures out how to use what it has. Read Full Review

Ant-Man is good to look at too. Rosanas'pencils haven't wavered in the slightest so far. Everything is nicely detailed, especially the ants vs. paperclips battle. And Ant-Man's costume looks as cool as issue #1. Though three issues in, I hope Scott takes it off one of these days. Surely he's bought some other clothes by now, right? Read Full Review

Three issues in and "Ant-Man" is another entertaining, high quality comic from Marvel. Spencer does dense plots well and what's coming up next will be a true test of how the premise of this series can hold up. If anyone can pull off the mundane drag of work life with the complications of spandex, Spencer has proven he can in his previous work like "Superior Foes of Spider-Man." I think this may be my favorite book of the series so far. Spencer is doing a great job with Scott Lang. Very fun, funny, and clever.
