This issue has some minor quibbles to be made about it, but does so much more right that it still shouldnt be missed. If for no other reason than the absolutely mammoth inventions that Earths defenders come up with, while still feeling like the book is taking place in some kind of reality rather than a far-future sci-fi universe. Avengers #43 sets this series up for a crazy finale leading into Secret Wars. Hickman is done building and we’re now start to get the payoff of this series and it’s not letting me down. Without robbing momentum from the two-part finale's impending epicness, this issue only has to tell about half issue's worth of "forward story". The flashbacks are padding but illuminating, if not humorously awkward. Mission accomplished for functionality with a small side of grounding humanity. Bring on the end! Read Full Review

Unfortunately, the art isn't always up to par in this chapter. Mike Mayhew's work is at its best when it focuses on the space battle and general spectacle rather than the human figures. Outside of those scenes, many characters suffer from wonky facial work and stiff poses. It's a shame these two Avengers titles can't offer a greater level of visual consistency during "Time Runs Out." Read Full Review

Avengers #43 sets the board for a pretty huge conclusion, and features some explosive events but inconsistent art and some odd pacing make this issue stumble rather than fly. As part of the larger picture, the story is fine and features some interesting callbacks to elements found earlier in the run, but the artwork is lacking and the issue is very average when looked at as an individual comic.
