This series has been building slowly and it's building to a powerful finish. (Better bring a hanky!) Read Full Review
Besides the predictable nature of Viv sacrificing herself to save the worlds. It really doesn't take away from how good the issue was. It's just solid writing and solid art all across the board. And considering that there is still one last part to go before the crossover ends. It's difficult to imagine what could come next after such an ending to this issue. Read Full Review
The Avengers and Champions may only have 58 minutes to save the world, but Avengers #674 shows that they only need 21 pages to make you feel. Read Full Review
The fifth installment of this Avengers/Champions crossover is a fast read, but a highly entertaining one at that. Viv Vision and her father are very much the heart of this entire crossover story. Read Full Review
I haven't been reading Waid's team books regularly enough to have as much negativity as some on the internet seem to have, but I have to say I found this issue to be a very strong one, especially in terms of Viv's character and the excellent art. Avengers #674 made me happy just by having a number higher than 25 on the cover, but the quality of material inside makes it totally worth the price of admission. Read Full Review
Most of this Avengers and Champions crossover story has been pretty forgettable. But isn't it amazing what great art can do for an issue? Jesus Saiz, welcome to the Avengers. Read Full Review
There have been so many rumors around about what would happen in this series that a lot of this issue comes as no surprise. Even without all the shock that should come with the moments foreshadowed, it was still emotional and well written. This crossover is a look back at what the Avengers have been about and what their adventures have been like. With a shifting of cast the story would not be out of place among classic stories of the Avengers. That seems to be the point. Giving the next generation a chance to be part of those classic stories. This is another great chapter in a story that will become part of the history of the Avengers.
Great work by Waid that's elevated by Saiz's art. Seriously this whole crossover should've been illustrated by Saiz or at least artists of his caliber. It would have felt more coherent. But as a standalone issue, it's the best one so far.
A heartbroken ending. Maybe a little quick & easy ont the end, but I'm heartbroken.
Not surprise because Facebook spoiled me (No thanks for that to those who put that as a news thursday night). I would have like a joke on Miles & Miles with Miles Morales, but no ... Shame ^^
I will wait for the next Champion issue.
At first I didn't like this caracter & I lean to like her thanks to Waid, no that she's dead I love her. So unfaire. See you soon, dead aren't dead in marvel univers sometime.
Cover - Nice cover 1/2
Writing - Heartbroken, well drafted 2,5/3
Arts - I like Saiz. 3/3
Feelings - I'm sad but at least she will not died stupidly in Avengers Surrender. 2/2
The Counter-Earth adventure ends with an emotional hammerblow. It's schmaltzy and foreshadowed and set up oh so obviously, but it *still* lands in the heart as though shot there by Hawkeye. This feels a lot like that point in Hickman's Fantastic Four when … well, you'll know when you hit it. Being illustrated in true tour-de-force fashion by Jesús Saiz certainly helps sell the climax, even if his Human Viv is undercut slightly by looking significantly different than previous artists' renditions. The visuals are quite simply stellar throughout, selling both wham-bam action and highly emotional conversations with equal skill.
This issue is a pretty solid story with absolutely jaw-dropping work by Jesus Saiz. This is worth it for the art alone.
Probably the best issue of the crossover. This was gorgeously drawn and colored. It was very interesting and the ending??? Wow. That was some emotional stuff. I know some people did not like the last page, but I am ok with it.
Dull art and storylines.
