Champions #3 is a brilliant addition to one of the best-written events in years. Ewing fills each character with both strength and vulnerability as they are pushed to breaking point. Each voice that is heard is unique and individual. During the quiet moments, the pages are brimming with suspense, but when things get lively the pace turns frantic. Each issue cant come fast enough. Champions #3 is a harrowing read, of that there is no doubt. Yet it is also a powerful read, one full of raw and real emotion, and supported by colorful and dramatic artwork. Read Full Review
We see more of the impact of Kamala Law with the other Champions in the re-education camps and how they are treated. There is a dystopian nature to how the kids are being treated and I want to see more of what is happening to these young heroes behind closed doors. With stellar art by Bob Quinn and a great cliffhanger ending that reaches back to the beginning of the Champions' origins, this is another great addition to the Outlawed arc. Read Full Review
This all feels like we've seen it before, but Civil War was never this visceral or personal, and the final page reveal gave me literal goosebumps. Nicely done. Read Full Review
The final page of the story hints at some big revelations to come and though this is the best issue of the run to date, it still has a way to go. Read Full Review
The title's plot threads come into perfect balance: The girls stuck in CRADLE jail, Viv being a runaway (not a Runaway) in Kansas, and the final fugitive Champions on the lam. All three are engaging and compelling to me. The art is solid, the dialogue is thoughtful (if a bit earnest, but hey, they're kids), and the plot developments are outstanding. Plus, there's a killer last-page surprise, a real goosebumps moment to close on. This series took a while to set the stage but suddenly I LOVE where we're at.

I've been lukewarm on this series so far, but aside from the scenes inside the C.R.A.D.L.E. detention center, I enjoyed this issue. The Viv scenes were the best, but I also really like the Champions proper, so I enjoyed seeing them on the run. And that ending was actually really cool, in my opinion.
The scenes in the prison were very annoying. Everything else was fine.
