PARENTAL ADVISORY
The StoriesThe highlight of Elektra: Black, White & Blood #1 is the story titled Not the Devil (written and drawn by Leonardo Romero) which, after a brief opening, turns into one long John Wick-style action tale, as Elektra takes out as many of Kingpins men as she can, wielding a Katana and her trademarks sais as the thugs speed down the road. Theres no setup given for her vendetta, and it doesnt really matter, because watching Elektra wipe the thugs out with Jason Voorhees-style efficiency and brutality is amazing. Read Full Review
Overall, Elektra: Black, White, and Blood #1 is a great first issue that is both deep and action packed. The stories by the different writers are incredible. The art the different artists is stunning. Altogether, a set of stories that shows the versatility of the Assassin in Red. Read Full Review
If we're lucky, Marvel will keep printing these series, as Elektra: Black, White & Blood will make you want more. Comics is a visual medium, and once again this series shows off the artistry of storytelling from three greats. It also supplies meaningful takes on the character, which is particularly great since historically she's been rather one-note. Read Full Review
I guess you could say that overall I liked this issue, but didn't love it. Red suits Elektra though, no denying that. Read Full Review
A fun read, but it serves more to whet the readers appetite for Elektra's undoubtedly major role in Devil's Reign. Read Full Review
Elektra: Black, White & Blood #1 gives readers three short stories that highlight why Elektra is considered one of the deadliest killers in all of Marvel-dom. While each story style is different (writing and art), there isn't a lemon in the bunch. That said, it would have served the anthology better if each short paid more attention to saying something new and meaningful about the character. Read Full Review
In “Not the Devil” Elektra hunts down and kills minions of the Kingpin from the shadows but momentarily hesitates after hearing the pleas of a young girl. And in the final story,“The Crimson Path” offers a more metaphysical tale of Elektra and her fight against evil and monsters which leave their mark on her. Read Full Review
There were more misses than hits in this debut issue, but for Elektra fans, that first story is still very much worth checking out. Read Full Review
I never thought of Elektra as a big-time AU/variant character, but there are some interesting reimaginings here. Art leads the way in all three strips; these look fantastic. They all have decent premises for short strips, too. This made for a pretty satisfying little read.
Leonardo Romero should leave the prose to full-time writers, though.
I'm not usually a fan of these types of books as the stories tend to be sort of basic. However, I love Elektra so like when they did wolverine I had to pick up a copy. This was decent I liked the 3rd story the best and the 2nd the least. The artwork on the first story really stood out as the best in my opinion.
Ehh. These anthologies can sure miss most of the time. I always get them though looking for that diamond in the rough. This is no diamond but, I wasn't totally disappointed when finished.
Decepção, pelo menos a cara é bonita para compensar os R$44,00 que eu paguei.
Anthologies are rough and Elektra isn't an amazing character. This issue was fine, with only the first story being worth reading.
Decent first story, the rest were bad, I'd like to see a bit more than just Elektra killing people left and right, there is more to the character than that.
