After a very strong debut, the creative team of Jonathan Hickman and Dale Eaglesham up the ante with an even stronger followup. The creators have a superb take on the characters and their scifi roots. This is the pulpiest and most high concept take on the characters that we've seen in a long time and it works incredibly well. Very, very solid start to Hickman's and Eaglesham's run on Fantastic Four and each issue has been better than the previous so far. I can't remember the last time "Fantastic Four" has been so much fun. It's got big crazy ideas, it's got the FF-as-family, it's got superheroics, it's got drama, it's got pathos. It's nice to see Hickman getting a spotlight book; not only because I like the idea of more attention being paid to his creator-owned books as a result, but because Hickman's earned it.
