Uncanny Avengers #1 opens up its run with a lot going for it when all is said and done. Great action, excellent character writing, and a plot that delivers big moments while laying the groundwork for more to come. This book looks like it aims to bring a lot more to its pages than just a hybrid of Marvels biggest franchises. Read Full Review
The creative teams these three short stories really brought their A-game and X-game (we want to be considerate of our mutant brothers and sisters). Cassara, Garron, & Schiti did some truly wonderful work on the visuals throughout the FCBD issue, and I look forward to seeing their work in the main titles as these stories continue. If you were worried for mutant lives with the Fall of X looming, prepare to be even more worried after reading Free Comic Book Day 2023: Avengers / X-Men. Even if this comic were four dollars, it'd be worth picking up. Highly entertaining and nerve-wracking, with bold twists, you're not going to only worry about the heroes but fear for them. I was really enjoying the Uncanny Avengers. I feel like I'll pick it up. The back up story didn't really entice me.
Hyped to see Duggan pick up some of his threads from his amazing Deadpool run.

This just makes it clear that Uncanny Avengers and X-Men will be tangled and necessary to follow Fall of X. Duggan-verse is here whether you like it or not. The Hickman tease is weak with nothing that makes me want to pick it up. Cassara and Garron are fantastic on art as always but the colors on Garron's figures especially the blue is weird...maybe a printer issue?
I appreciate the way the A & B strips work together and there's plenty of juicy foreshadowing. But it's still just advertainment, so I'm not rating it past average.
