Per usual for Marvel Comics, Free Comic Book Day 2023: Spider-Man / Venomis a comic with incredible art and some nice teases for what is to come. The Venom tale has got me more excited for the time-traveling exploits of Venom, while the Spider-Man story feels like a return to the comedic and fun voice of Spider-Man we know and love. Throw in a teaser for Hickman's summer project, and it's an easy pickup and worth the drive to get it! Read Full Review
I will admit, these weren't the stories that I was expecting to read today, but I truly enjoyed the direction that they went in. Read Full Review
I honestly remember so little about reading this the day after which is not a good sign at all. Read Full Review
I liked everything that was offered here.
Gleason please come back to ASM. I miss you there, your art is amazing.
Gleason on art? Check. Spider-Man being actually funny? Check. Wells doing something interesting with good villains? Check. I liked all of this. Only downside it was half an issue long and will unlikely give us a lot more Gleason like we deserve.
This is the best FCBD Marvel offering. The Spider-Man story is a lot of fun and looks great. The Venom story is so cool. I love how Ewing manages to piece together canon and continuity. The Ultimate Invasion tease is much more exciting than I was expecting after the GODS tease felt inadequate.

I liked the Venom and Ultimate whatever story. The Spider-Man one was alright.
ASM by Wells has a good back to form here but man that bad taste from the current run is still there so I'm not sure what to make of this. Gleason should be on the current run. I don't know why they're not putting him in the rotation because his art was phenomenal. I actually enjoyed the Venom tease because of the way Al Ewing makes this story with the goofiest symbiote enjoyable and especially with Cafu on art. I will pick it now and read back from issue 17 as suggested by other people. Again the Hickman tease is weak and I'll be skipping the whole Ultimate Universe stuff.
These previews are nigh-painfully on-brand for their respective writers.
Hickman takes the 1610: Cryptic and intriguing, check-check.
Al Ewing Venom: Yes, *of course* 1940s Flexo was actually a symbiote.
Zeb Wells Spider-Man: Snappy humor, action scenes that triumph or flounder based entirely on the artist, and plotting that I'm struggling to say anything nice about.
