Hulk #13 takes a big step forward in the story by answering lingering questions left too long on the back burner, questions that made the series feel like it was treading water. The reveals are intriguing, and the art is excellent. If Ottley can keep this up, the arc will conclude a lot stronger than it started. Read Full Review
The book sometimes loses its story in its visuals, but there's never a point where it isn't exciting. Read Full Review
Hulk #13 is the penultimate issue of this series and it really delivers on just what a monster Titan is. Ryan Ottley and the rest of the creative team really bring Titan to life, and while his design is a little lacking, that doesn't take away from the threat he is. The sheer destruction and death he brings to Monolith and her people is exceeded by what else he doest to them. And on top of that, the comic manages to deepen the reveals of the true villains behind all of this, though it is a little last-minute. Hopefully all of the reveals make better sense in the next issue. Read Full Review
I'm honestly surprised this book worked as well as it did. Ottley's script isn't bad (although that reveal is a bit questionable), aside from just the sheer amount of monologuing, and the somewhat uncontrolled pacing. And the art is great. I was a bit doomer on this title when I saw it was ending so suddenly and Cates was MIA. He clearly had a longer run he wanted to do, but the last couple issues have really done a lot to make me feel like we could successfully wrap all this up in the few pages that are left.
#11's reign as the most Invincible-ish issue of the volume was short-lived; #13 easily takes the crown. One small but crucial plot development delivered in a generous package of gratuitous gore. Though it's not to my taste, I'll admit it's done pretty well.
I felt like there wasn't much that happened in this issue aside from the flashback. After how much I enjoyed the previous issue, this was a little bit of a let-down as we go into the final issue of the series. Hopefully Ottley can bring everything together and give us the finale this run deserves, and hopefully Cates can have a little more involvement with it.
Art is great. Ottley does his best with the script, but knowing this series will end the next issue, all this kinda feels like a waste.
...doesn't Dr. Strange's body always pass out when his astral form leaves it?
