Infinity Countdown: Captain Marvel #1 is a compelling character study on Carol Danvers. We see where she is at right now and where she may go from here. Its also a great starting point for those unfamiliar with the character. On top of that, Oolortegui and Arciniega provide good artwork. This one earns a recommendation. Check it out. Read Full Review
Huge fans of Carol Danvers may appreciate this solo issue. Carol learned some important lessons but in her current rankthese lessons should have already have been learned. This issue is not much of an Infinity Countdown tie-in, where it only slightly related to Infinity Countdown Prime. Deceptively dense, Infinity Countdown: Captain Marvel #1 is a diverting, inessential, and only a stand-alone featuring Marvels next onscreen big star. Read Full Review
INFINITY COUNTDOWN: CAPTAIN MARVEL #1 breaks down the potential pasts, presents, and futures of Carol Danvers though it falls short in bringing anything new to the table. Read Full Review
It's ... okay. Heavy on continuity that doesn't serve the story, light on anything Infinity-related. Fun if you're a big Carol Danvers fan, skippable if you're just a stone-hunter. Read Full Review
Infinity Countdown fans won't miss anything by not grabbing it, but if you've been on the fence regarding the character, this might be enough to bring you back into the fold. Read Full Review
Not really a demanding tie-in for Infinity Countdown, but nonetheless it is a great Captain Marvel story, and most importantly, a breath of fresh air for Carol fans who have felt somewhat letdown with the character's portrayal in recent years. The concept within this story of multiple realities (the part "Captain Marvel" fans will like) is excellent. Displaying the potential of the Reality Stone Carol possesses in light of the upcoming Infinity Wars, all of this connects to Carol's insecure personality to show why she's the perfect person to be holding this stone and why we needed a comic about that.
i liked it. at first i agreed with those who feel this wasnt a good infinity story. but after some thought, i think it does a great job explaining why carol got the reality stone. true, it seemed short and nondescript, but it really said a lot. and considering how obsessed she admits to wanting to control reality, needing perfection, her obtaining the stone is either a test or maybe someone wants her to ruin it all. i dont know.
this ish definitely did well describing the stone's power, fleshing out carol's character (making her more likeable imo cause it shows that she doesnt like her arrogance either), and it hints to why she has the stone and possibly why others do to.
the art was good. wasnt great, but good. and i more
Carol shows off the possibilities of the Reality Stone by touring AUs where critical moments in her life went differently. It's a fascinating selection of possibilities and the art is outstanding, but the script doesn't quite succeed at making Carol's reactions seem rational. Perhaps the AU vignettes should have been in a different order? It seems to start at the highest emotional intensity and then trail off.
It's simply a filler issue which just shows Carol travelling through the multiverse and checking on other versions of herself. Completely skippable, but it's not a bad read for fans of the character.
Its an OK book but isnt that good or fun. It requires knowledge on the Captain Marvel history throughout the past years. But honestly i found myself begging for the book to end. The art by Diego Olortegui isnt consistent. About in a page or two, the art is OK but in other pages it was terrible (atleast for my taste).
But for those who is curious whether this book will contribute to the main Infinity Countdown series. Then i would say nope. All u have to know is that Captain Marvel from every alternate universe has the Reality stone. Thats all.
Overall. A good exploration of Captain Marvel history and this book does not contribute anything to the main Infinity Countdown story. A moderate writing by Jim McCann and a no more
Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten.
Well, if you’re interested in a rundown of Carol Danvers, or a Ghost of Christmas Past featuring Carol Danvers, or saw the end credits scene of Infinity War and are new to Captain Marvel and would love a rundown before her movie, or like make over stories about finding yourself, this issue is great. It’s perfect for you. If you were were looking to further the Infinity Countdown story... this was awful. So which am I? Probably can figure out by the score.....
Here is the issue. Carol as the reality stone. But what we find out that is kind of n more
For those who like Carol maybe that was great. For me that give me nothing. They couldn't even find a way to make a deal with DC for have billy in this. And that didn't achieve anything for Infinity countdown.
Cover - The variant - Not very nice, not really related. I would have taken the regular. 0.5/2
Writing - Not bad at first ... But I didn't care. Maybe if Genis Vell would have a bigger part. 1/3
Arts - The arts is good. He save the book by himself literally. 3/3
Feeling - I don't care about it. They didn't succeed to making me care. 0/2
