Artistically, continual close-ups capture the emotion of conversations for most of the issue. This isn't an action-packed one, there isn't a physical showdown where Jessica fights with the animated shell of Carol Danvers, but Jessica facing Killgrave and her own mortality is more than enough. Overall, you want to read this. Period. Read Full Review
There's not much going on in JESSICA JONES #16 other than a simple conversation. But what a conversation it is! It ends in one of the most interesting and surprising twists in recent memory. It's loaded, it's riveting, and it's thought-provoking. Read Full Review
Digging deep, we are treated to a look inside Jessicas head. Always one to blame herself, she is put in circumstances beyond her control, and she resents it. Conversely, The Purple Mans ego is put on display. A character developing issue, its the strongest in the arc so far. Read Full Review
The conclusion of the comic picks up a thread from Netflix's television show that was toyed with momentarily but quickly thrown away in favor of pitting the pair against each other. Could the Purple Man, under Jessica's influence, be a force for good in the world? I guess we're about to see. As for me? Let's just say I wouldn't bet against this becoming another Jessica Jones-sized shitstorm before all is said and done. Worth a look. Read Full Review
I'll be sad to see Bendis go, but he's certainly going out with literal and metaphorical guns a' blazin,. Read Full Review
Jessica Jones #16 doesn't have perfect pacing, but the emotions needed for a final arc are presented well. Read Full Review
I love this book! So sad to see Bendis leave.
Bendis’ time with Marvel is almost done, as we see the series he writes reach their conclusion. This is trademark Bendis, an issue built around a conversation—but it’s a very interesting conversation that leads to a rather unexpected conclusion. Time is almost up—I’m savouring Bendis writing Jessica for what may be the last time.
I can’t quite tell if Kilgrave’s promise to do good is genuine or not, but as long as Bendis is writing and Gaydos is drawing I’ll be happy
Killgrave takes the upper hand. For the first time in the series, Jessica drinks whiskey. I love how significant Mr. Bendis makes that. What I love a lot less is him poaching his big last-page twist out of the first season of the Netflix Jessica show. I was so happy to see this series take another direction last month; seeing it circle back is disappointing. There's still plenty of heft to the dialogue, characterization, and art leading up to the twist. This is a good comic. I just wish it could have been a novel one.
as always, the art is that style of poop that I have no idea how anyone enjoys, but ok.. the story is good enough to overlook it.
the drama continues. mostly purple-guy being the d-bag we know him to be while Jessica works herself up for the moment of her suicide attack. that part is well done.
crazy ending, I'm starting to get sick of this story.
