Overall, this finale fulfills the promise this arc — and this series — had from the start. I could have gone without the self-aware Bendis Easter eggs, but alas. We can ignore them and move on. Where we go from here, it's hard to say, but I've never been more satisfied with a climax from Jessica Jones. Alias included. This is how finales are done. Read Full Review
Given how much the character has dominated her life, the question for Jessica is what is life like after the Purple Man (again, assuming he stays gone… this is the comic company that has brought back pretty much every character ever from the dead after all)? Worth a look. Read Full Review
Bendis continues to wrap up his Marvel series on high notes. Read Full Review
The solicitation for this comic seems to give the idea that the storyline would be a bit different. While it feels like there was a master plan initially at play, it would seem Bendis' departure from Marvel may have cut this story short of its full potential. While the dialogue is still riveting and the confrontation between Jessica and The Purple Man exciting, the issue falls a little flat due to its ending. Read Full Review
Bendis' biggest strength and weakness is decompression, and, sadly, for Jessica Jones this style makes this story falter. Read Full Review
Great conclusion to the story and a great capstone to Jessica Jones' character arc under Bendis.
A satisfying conclusion to this third arc, and to Kilgrave’s story in general. Kilgrave kills himself, as Jessica starts to move on with her family. Beautiful series
The Purple Man bows out in a philosophical way. It's written pretty well and the art does impressive tricks to liven up a talk-heavy script, but this isn't quite all-time great. Killgrave doesn't deserve an ending like this; it's more suited to a villain with some shreds of sympathy. The Purple Man has never been more than a monster, particularly in Jessica Jones's orbit.
This feels like a last issue. Jessica's struggle with the Purple Man comes to a close, albeit a somewhat underwhelming one. I'm not even sure if this series will continue post-Bendis, but there is at least one more. This is a little too conversational (too Bendis-y?), even if it does have great Gaydos art.
