Instead of another fight with C.R.A.D.L.E., Kamala gets in some good, old-fashioned monster bashing. Read Full Review

With "The Magnificent Ms. Marvel" ending its run with a special oversized final issue in January 2021, each moment readers get to spend with this character and in the world Ahmed and co have created in this run feels like a treat. Read Full Review
The Magnificent Ms Marvel #16 is an excellent issue that gives Kamala a much-needed distraction from her current situation while getting readers to know Amulet better. Even with such a wide-ranging event going on, Ahmed is able to expand Kamala's (and the Marvel Universe's) world in fun and engaging ways. Read Full Review

Magnificent Ms. Marvel #16 marks a return to high-quality form, evolving Kamala's struggles with the Outlawed status quo and checking in strongly with her supporting cast. Action is not lacking thanks to another thrilling team-up with Amulet, and this series retains its strong command of endearing and compelling teen hero adventures. Read Full Review
A good issue of a solid "Ms. Marvel" comic, which uses the "Outlawed" storyline to its advantage rather than let it derail the plot. Read Full Review
Kamala's supporting cast is tied in knots by the Outlawed business. So when she runs into Amulet, she dives on the opportunity to do a straightforward monster-bashing mission instead of untangling the briar patch of opinions expressed by her friends and family. Although that's a natural, human choice to make, I don't think there's enough distance between Kamala's choice and the creators'. Outlawed raises complicated grown-up issues and it feels like we're dodging them to go on a well-told but meaningless demon-hunt.
Eh, this was fine! I wish it were better.
A fine if somewhat uninteresting issue.
