An expensive bounty has been put on Vader's head! Who would dare try to challenge the Dark Lord's place in the Empire?
Nothing big or flashy in this issue, but plenty of tension from some Imperial officers' plot to kill Vader. The story is creepy, the reveals shocking, and the visual outstanding. This is Star Wars. Read Full Review
It may not be as wild as the other issues, but its definitely more thought-provoking, giving us some great insight into how Vader establishes his dominance. Its a well-told story and any Darth Vader fan is sure to love this! Heck, any Star Wars fan! Read Full Review
A solid chapter in the Darth Vader story though it's more political than most probably would like. Read Full Review
The Darth Vader series is one that really is firing on all cylinders and is delivering exactly what I had hoped for at this point for the character. Read Full Review
After eliminating the Emperor as a suspect, Darth Vader turns his attention to the Empire itself and arranges a little demonstration both to scare off these would-be assassins and begin the legend of Darth Vader with a forceful reminder that neither betrayal or failure will be accepted. While impressive, most impressive, I doubt that will stop our assassins (as the arc is still only getting started). Worth a look. Read Full Review
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this issue and it's stirred to to seek out some previous issues to see how they handle Vader. Surprisingly solid! Read Full Review
A really solid Star Wars title, easily one of the better issues I've read recently, it's dark and a bit brutal, it's exactly what I want from a Darth Vader issue. Read Full Review

This issue is a fine read as it bridges the story in a unique way. We're shown some of the inner workings of the Empire and the corruption that permeates the Empire's universe. High ranking officials in undercover mode attempting assassinations of important leaders. You can tell in this issue that the Empire is based on the Nazi regime. It is so much like project Valkyrie and the attempted assassination of Adolph Hitler that you can almost hear the officers yell Seig Heil and give the Nazi salute! *** (7.2 rating) Read Full Review
This issue doesn't push the story forward that much, coming close to evoking sympathy for Vader as his master is seemingly turning on him, or testing him, while he believes every word Palpatine says. Read Full Review
More awesome Vader action. Charles Soule seems to have a great grasp on who this character is. There are some pretty key moments that play out in this comic. I've you've loved it to this point like I have you'll probably continue to love it.
This issue was a great exploration of the relationship between Vader and the Emperor, and of Vader's inner thoughts. It was nice to see the construction of Vader's lightsaber, and I loved the way we saw the Emperor picking up some of the artifacts we saw in his possession in the Lando miniseries. I did find it a little slow and lacking in both action and suspense, though a quiet issue every now and then is not a bad thing. I liked that it wasn't Palpatine who was behind the assassination attempt, but I wish we got to learn more about the beings who were actually behind it.
