Queen Emporia is on the run from her husband, along with her kids and bodyguard. Now all they have to do is get across the galaxy while the world's most ruthless dictator has all his forces in hot pursuit. Easy, right? A plea for help on an alien stopover world plus a broken transporter could end their adventure before it's begun! The stakes get even higher in the latest from superstar creators Millar and Immonen!
RATED T+
I think by now Millar has all earned our trust. For me, if he puts out a book I'm there and Empress is no different. Empress is a must for any pull list. You will not be disappointed! Read Full Review
A sensational science fiction chase that thrills with both story and art. Recommended. Read Full Review
Empress #2 may have slowed things down a little, but for the better, with the issue still managing to end in an exhilarating manner. Not only did the creative team achieve this, but they also gave us some fun character interaction, with some tense moments along the way. Read Full Review
So far Empress has delivered a story that has got my attention and its shaping up to be an epic space fantasy adventure. Im keen to keep reading to see where it takes us and Im curious about this familiar, yet alien universe that we have been introduced to. I just hope it continues to deliver. Read Full Review
The sense of adventure and drama continues in Empress #2. I love the contrast between the heroic Dane, the determined Emporia, and loyal Aine. One minor gripe is King Morax being absent from this issue. There was enough progress in the story that his absence didn't take away, but I want to see more of the king and queen's courtship flashback. To reference that final page again -- I can't wait to see how they get themselves out of this danger. Read Full Review
This book is certainly fun in the way so many Millarworld comics are, but there's no reason it can't strive for more depth at the same time. Read Full Review
Another exciting, imaginative issue. Millar has a tendency to go overboard on the action, but in a space adventure like this, it works. It's a shame that Gary Coleman isn't still alive, he'd be a shoe-in for the role of Tor in the Empress movie if that ever got made.
I found this issue less captivating as the first one. Will try one more issue.
