How were the New Gods characterized different in Darkseid War
A cool concept that could have been great if handled with any sort of serious tone. Yet it's silly has dumb humor and doesn't have anything to do with black metal aside from character Aesthetics. Chalk this up as another comic book that wants to take a metal or Punk take on something that the writer knows nothing about the history or the music and can't be bothered to research it.
You've only heard whispers of this real-world/Marvel Universe crossover until now, when moral decline and budgetary shortfalls have combined to lower our lawyers' resistance! Sebastian Girner (Shirtless Bear-Fighter, Scales & Scoundrels) and Caspar Wijngaard (Angelic, Limbo, DOCTOR APHRA ANNUAL #2) recklessly bring you the tale of the first and onl...
Don’t understand the praises here. This run started good, but became dull pretty fast.
SPOILER I am glad it’s just a dream/ alternative reality of Scott in the end, but nothing really was explained in the last issue. So Scott just keeps living in the fantasy world he created? Well doesn’t really fit his character.
SPOILER END
However I have a problem with t more
It'll be a miracle if you can get through this mind-bending conclusion with your sanity intact! After his epic battle with Darkseid, Scott Free sees life a whole new way: he's the new Highfather of New Genesis, and he's madly in love with his wife and child. But what if it's all a lie? Did Mister Miracle really escape death way back in issue #1? No...
It's a disappointed ending to this series simply because it feels as if they're trying to milk it for a sequel. I feel the twist didn't do the book a lot of favors and this ending issue has emotional weight but just doesn't stick The landing. It's not bad it's just let down.

This title is getting more and more ridiculous by the issue. The characters are all incredibly unlikeable the world they live in is so over the top that their struggles are not relatabl. Once again this book is mired in bad dialogue and a glacial pace.
The crazy old lady known only as La Curandera tells a tale that begins 500 years ago in the Aztec Empire at the peak of its strength and ends in her dirty little Arizona gift shop with four kids and a wayward Chupacabra, all of whom are meant to save the world from an ancient evil. Alas, it's a school night. But our heroes defy their destinies at t...
This is really bad. It makes every character a stereotype and yet the critics eat it up because it *dares* to address these "modern" issues. But it does so in such a one-sided and ridiculous fashion. Being outright wrong in some areas and just obnoxiously over the top in others.

This book feels as if it was written as segment's in a tv show with no pay off. This issue just kind of ends with the tiniest amount of progression.
After barely surviving a supernatural showdown at Jack in the Box, the kids regroup over nachos to debate what to do when your town is overrun by monsters of myth. Frank's freaked and wants to go to the cops! Julietta can't because her family's undocumented. Aimi wants to know the secrets of the underworld! And Quinteh might just be hungry. Meanwhi...
Clay Mann's art is stunning in this book but that's about the only positive. This event in one issue and capsule it's all of the negative traits of early 2000's comic books. Mystery is not interesting and the book takes about 2 mins to read its that thin on plot.
There's a new kind of crisis threatening the heroes of the DC Universe, ripped from real-world headlines by C.I.A.-operative-turned-comics-writer Tom King: How does a superhero handle PTSD? Welcome to Sanctuary, an ultra-secret hospital for superheroes who've been traumatized by crime-fighting and cosmic combat. But something goes inexplicably wron...
I really enjoyed the art in the book but wow this story is just ridiculous. It comes across as over-the-top satire but the deeper you dive you realize it's not so i just don't get who this book is for.

The book is a bit pricey but I really enjoyed this first chapter. The ending was really well handled and emotional.

Moon Knight is one of my all-time favorite characters but Max Bemis is run just isn't for me. I felt lost at multiple times during this issue and the Art's lack of backgrounds and detail look sloppy
ONSLAUGHT OF THE SADISTS!
• Moon Knight runs the Trials of a society of sadists!
• The mad master of the society has set traps specifically designed for Spector!
• What pieces of himself might Marc need to sacrifice to survive?

Best issue of this series so far

This issue really didn't grab me as much as the critics. I find the town and characters just to over the top to really draw me in. That said it's average enough for me to give it's second issue a look in hopes it gets better.
Don't miss the start of this all-new ongoing Vertigo series by writer Eric M. Esquivel (Gregory Graves, Ricanstruction) and artist Ramon Villalobos (Nighthawk, America).
