Lobo/Road Runner Special is truly a delight. This series of comics is going to be a nice break from DCs line, poking fun at the capes while letting the cartoons have fun. The illustration and writing coalesce to create an engaging read that capitalizes on the irony of shady origins as the method of humor. None of the characters are overbearing and this final product is an enjoyable foray into seemingly disparate themes and mechanics of storytelling. Read Full Review

Its a fun read, and kudos to Bill Morrison for pulling it off. Figuring out a wayto feature characters from such widely differing universes cant be easy, butMorrison did very well. The main story features the artwork of Kelly Jones,which seems an odd choice, but given the storys EC overtones, maybe not.Jones work has always evoked that style, without copying it too closely. There's definitely a particular crowd for these comics, and thankfully they're proving themselves to be of a high quality. If you look at these on your local store's shelf and think “man that's so strange I have to check it out” then by all means please too. It's a great tongue-in-cheek comic that knows exactly what it wants to be and does it tremendously. Don't miss this one. Read Full Review

I highly recommend picking up Lobo/Road Runner if you're looking for a fun and breezy read. It really captures what makes Road Runner one of the few classic cartoons that I really loved as a kid as well as what makes Lobo one of my favorite characters in the DC Universe. Harken ye to the sad tale of a mutated coyote's unrequited desire to catch and eat a road runner. Leave with heavy hearts but enlightened minds...or lightened minds. This story is pretty boring to be starring the Main Man and the Fast and the Furious of the Looney Tunes set. The back-up is nominally better. Read Full Review

"Wile E. Coyote hires Lobo to take out Road Runner." Sounds hilarious, right? Well, whatever story you just thought of in your head is better than this sad excuse for a comic book. The conceit by which the Looney Tunes characters are brought into the DC Universe is stupid and unnecessary, and the ensuing events are just... Meh.
So no, Lobo does NOT travel through a portal to the Looney Tunes universe and lay waste to the entire population using cartoon violence, because that would have been WAY too much fun. What a missed opportunity.
