Deathstroke is back and more ruthless than ever as he challenges the Legion of Doom and continues a bloody rampage to attain the power that Lex Luthor gave to Slade's son, Jericho. Like I said at the beginning of this review, I love this run of comics. It is going to be an absolute classic when all is said and done. Kudos to Priest and the artists and creators that have worked on this title. It's been truly great. Read Full Review

Comic Book Legion - Tom Zimm Oct 2, 2019

This issue builds on the suspense of this story arc by giving the reader an explanation for Slade Wilson's return from the dead and setting up a conflict with his son Jericho. The tie in to the Year of the Villain makes more sense in this issue then in other books due to Lex Luthor's meeting with Jericho. It appears that Deathstroke could have a larger part to play in Luthor's overall plans. I encourage fans of Deathstroke to jump on this book. Read Full Review

This is a DCU title that makes good use of continuity, but it's a very human story at its core and that's its biggest strength. Not everyone makes it out of this issue alive, and I'm guessing more tragedy is to come as we rocket towards the end. Read Full Review

Deathstroke #48 does an excellent job of answering the series' mysteries. Unfortunately, the difference between Pagulayan and Pasarin's artwork is noticeable in this issue. Read Full Review

With the action and violence on high this issue, it seems like Priest is killing his way to getting a Slade vs. Slade scenario for this series' finale........ the only problem is, this issue if full of ridiculous explanations and scenarios in order for us to get there.  The art is great, it's just that our main character, even with the two sides of him being explored here, just comes off weird and the usual storytelling of Priest isn't helping the flow of the book either.   Read Full Review

Deathstroke remains a uniquely challenging work in DC Comics' current lineup, but has hit a low point after years of highs. It's disappointing, even as the quality remains higher than most of its contemporaries. Read Full Review

I enjoyed Slade returning as the main character to the story, as seeing his journey from beyond the grave was original and intriguing. Unfortunately the issue lacked pace and substance and didn't leave me eager for the next issue. Lets just hope Priest has something big up his sleeve for the final two issues. As one of the greatest comic book writers over the past 40 years, I have complete faith. Read Full Review

    Man, i love this issue
the thing about Priest's take on Deathstroke is that you almost never see whats going on in the characters mind, a lot people dislike this, and i can see why, but, i think it was a smart decision since this make issues like this more impactful.

I also like the idea of Slade disguised as a nurse, i know the explanation in the issue is about how is the last thing people would think he would disguised himself, but i like to think that he wanted this disguise to help people, as we saw in this issue, Slade has a sense of morality after all. The character comes out really complex and full of layers. Slade realizing that his "home" is better without him is a great moment, amazing how he can sympathize with hi more

The reason I keep giving this comic high notes ia because it's GOOD. Because it deserves It. Because it's Deathstroke. And when it's over, we'll miss it so, so dearly.

    Prelude:
We're near the end of Priest's Deathstroke. Now it is time to stick the landing.

    The Good:
Loving what we're seeing from both Slades here. Shows the difference and similarities between these two characters.

Jericho is also a highlight and his descent against his will. I especially loved his interaction with Lex.

Despite barely being in the issue, Rose was a strong impact for me.

    Art was great as well.

    The Bad:
This is the first issue for this week I'm reviewing but it looks like the Doom insignia is happening on every book... Still undecided on how I feel about that.

    Conclusion:
Priest is finish Deathstroke with a bang. An amazing series with a sp more

I'm not even going to try to explain how Slade's resurrection worked. I guess leprosy is as good of a plot device as anything else in similar circumstances. At one point you just have to stop thinking about nonsense in comics, because otherwords you'll be solely disappointed.

With the upcoming finale of the run, Slade will fight Slade, similarly to Batman facing Batman. I hope Priest will pull it off better than King, which really shouldn't be difficult, but being better isn't equal to being good. Deathstroke's run was rather uneven in the latter part, which makes me somehow worried of how is it exactly going to tie up.

All that being said, Priest's work on the character sure is impresive, and we need to remember him a more
