Welcome to the Other Place, where the Upside-Down Man rules without equal, and where all the odds are bleakly stacked in his favor. Wonder Woman will tap into the darkest recesses of power, but can she control it? What sleight of mind will Zatanna reveal to her greatest villain, and what sacrifice (or three!) must be made? This issue features a battle so costly that the team’s roster will be forever changed.
Amancay Nahuelpan delivers some beautiful art in this issue. Each page has great details in both the backgrounds and characters and the action is kinetic. Read Full Review
Both Ram V and Amancay Nahuelpan are living up to this series' horror reputation, and it's hard to see how all this can be resolved in only one more issue. Read Full Review
If you need a superhero horror fix you're going to need to read Justice League Dark #27. This issue has a good balance of each character, furthers their personal journeys, and sets in motion a major cliffhanger that could change one of the more interesting supervillains introduced in the last few years. Excellently consistent, and consistently excellent, that's how I describe this series to anyone who'll listen. This issue's yet another keeper, as well as the first step on the final road towards war against the Otherkind, and a magical battle for the ages. Read Full Review
Things are moving forward almost too quickly, but at the very least"you won't be bored. Read Full Review
An action-packed issue that's so good that it feels like the finale. Read Full Review
Beautifully drawn by Amancay Nahuelpan, this artist successfully captures the world of magic within the DCU but firmly from a heroic perspective. This definitely lends itself well to Ram Vs story telling with strong dialogue and an interesting plot. Of course, we all know that Justice League Dark will prevail and that John Constantine will not be dead. However Kent Nelson, I once again fear the worst for this character that has died multiple times before and hopefully Ram V is not using the original wielder of Doctor Fate as an emotional story point. The magic is being thrown around this issue and while that might initially pique someone's interest, it doesn't ultimately do anything here and it's just characters running around and failing over and over again. Just an over the top fight scene here which while it looked good, kind of left me bored. Read Full Review
That body horror at the end was pretty cool.
Glad I didn't read this one before bed!
A surprisingly brief issue. I thought it was good.
This was alright but I wish we were seeing more of the various Otherkind. JLD #7 is probably my favorite single issue of this series so far. It was a great introduction to those monsters and it's more than a little disappointing to see them relegated to the sidelines. I am still enjoying this series but I do feel like the Upside Down Man story line has been decompressed a tad too much if V isn't going to do anything with the other Otherkind.
