You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff Mar 30, 2023

Its fun to see Captain Marvel contrasted against a couple of superpowered women who are much more poised and sharper than he is. Its a nice dynamic. Lazarus Planet: Revenge of the Gods #2 gave us everything I've liked about this event so far distilled into one issue. Grand stakes, a highlight on lesser-known characters, fantastic art there's nothing here to object to. I'll be sad when it's over, but Gods, am I enjoying it while it's here! Read Full Review

Lazarus Planet: Revenge of the Gods #2, despite having nothing to do with Lazarus Planet, is a rock-solid Shazam issue in the middle of a Wonder Woman arc. The art is fantastic, and G. Willow Wilson's writing is stellar, but the dialog hits wrong in a few spots when newer characters treat Shazam like the new kid on the block. Read Full Review

The art is pretty solid throughout, which is helpful but overall, this is just an average comic that feels weirdly out of place, crammed into two different "runs" is were and not really fitting into either. Read Full Review

This story arc now feels like its starting to feel stretched out instead of a nice tight event that makes up in importance what it lacks in length. Read Full Review
