As the reluctant Queen Mera continues to work toward a peace between the surface and the sea, her rule is challenged by the former king of Atlantis, Orm the Ocean Master! But Orm is torn between his duty to Atlantis and his love for his new surface family-and both he and Mera will clash over the futures they choose to fight for!
This is a great issue. The art is really strong both in moments of dialogue and action. The action itself is a lot of fun. Even in her weakened state, Mera is still a force which is cool. And Abnett provides a lot of really strong character moments for both Mera and Ocean Master. I recommend checking this one out. Read Full Review

Mera Queen of Atlantis is two issues in and they already coming through with the elite symbolism. Read Full Review
Lan Medinas work looks better this issue thanks to new inker Norm Rapmund. Medina is good with action scenes. Yet, I would have preferred if Nicola Scott had also been invited to elevate the series into classic territory. Read Full Review
Mera: Queen of Atlantis #2 is another solid entry in what's shaping up to be a great first mini-series for the newly dubbed Queen, even if it comes across as Orm trying to steal the limelight. (Which, frankly, is such an Orm thing to do.) Read Full Review
A good follow up to the first issue. Read Full Review
This isn't a bad series by any stretch " neither is the book it spins out of " but it's not really a Mera series. Read Full Review
Mera: Queen of Atlantis #2 is a well paced issue that progresses the story well, but continues to be too tied into canon for anyone who isn't up to date on Aquaman to enjoy. Read Full Review
Dan Abnett gives us an action-packed fight-filled issue that is over way to quickly because not much happens. Lan Medina and the art team make it all look great, but this kind of padding in a six-issue mini should never happen. You can probably skip this one and jump back in with no problem next month or just trade wait on this series. Read Full Review
Mera: Queen of Atlantis #2 still has some problems hobbling what could be a great story from a great creative team. Abnett still comes off as uncomfortable with this setup, but theres still plenty to love from the villain to the pacing and fight sequence. In fact, I do recommend this one; just be aware of its flaws before checking it out. Read Full Review
This is issue moves the story forward significantly compared to the first, but the constant narration still takes me out of the story from time to time. Read Full Review
The conflict with Orm and Mera feels natural.
Somewhat disappointing. Two characters meet. They argue, and it descends into the usual punch up scenario.
Promising expansion after very promising beginning. Surely not as good as the first issue, but it was still solid, offering more depth to the character of Ocean Master, as well as explaining relations between main heroes, which will help new readers, unaware of Aquaman's lore, to jump in and enjoy the trip.
