You Don't Read Comics - Ronald Simmons Jun 13, 2018

An all-Asian cast of characters written by an Asian-American is pretty much unheard of from the big two publishers, so it was nice to see DC do something that was a break from their norm. Even if it wasnt a smash hit monetarily, creatively there was a unique story put out into the world with rich characters that will hopefully be absorbed into the fabric of DCs universe and used for years to come. Twenty-four issues in the current market is a nice run. This was a great book. And I am glad Yang got the chance to give us an epilogue of sorts. If you haven't tried this book, look for it or the trades. And I hope Brian Michael Bendis doesn't let Kenan drift into limbo. Read Full Review

Sadly, this series will end after this issue, but I'm hoping that doesn't mean the end for either Kenan or Gene Luen Yang at DC. I'd love to see him continue to write these characters, maybe in a team book. It's been one of DC's hidden gems and I hope it finds a second life in collections. Read Full Review

This version of the Justice League has provided readers with a great series and the ending is about as good as anyone could hope for. It will be a pity if there are no future miniseries or other comics to follow up on this new frontier at DC Comics. Read Full Review

And now, the end is here, and so we'll face the final curtain. It's been a fun read, Kong Kenan, I hope we see you and the crew again someday. Especially Robinbot. In fact, just the Robinbot mini-series will do nicely. Read Full Review

Had the series focused instead on Kong Kenan and his role as a super-hero for Asia, the series may have had greater potential. Eventually, he may have evolved away from the Superman copycat mold. But we'll never know, and I suppose that's okay. Read Full Review
