This has been a really fun series both for readers who haven't had a long exposure to these characters and for those who have been following them for years. I really like the way this miniseries both introduced and grew these characters. Having a definite end to the series allows the writers and artist to challenge themselves to tell a story quickly with little room for waste. Sometimes in ongoing series, it seems it can take several issues to work through a plot point. You can't do that in these miniseries and the strengths of these artists shine here. Read Full Review
The series is rather enjoyable, and the childlike acts of Etrigan keep the story humorous through the dark events. Its fantastic seeing Etrigan and Jason out on their own, though, whenever they do team up with Justice League Dark, its fulfilling, as they bring plenty of power, internal conflict, and banter along with them to mix in with the chaos that revolves around the group of the estranged supernatural persons. With the issues end, questions have flourished, like what could be next for Etrigan? And what his new position could do for later DC comics as hes now reached a zenith like point? Read Full Review
All in all, it may be mostly predictable but it was smarty and beautifully executed. The middle aspect of the series was where things slowed down a little too much for my tastes but it ended it strong and it gave us a new status quo for the cast involved – all while remembering that because of those involved it can be reset to where it was fairly easily if needed. That said, Andrew Constant made this a fun read, though I imagine writing all the rhymes has to be a real challenge, while Walker and Hennessy along with Sotomayor really brought it to life beautifully with all its chaos and craziness. Definitely a memorable book overall. Read Full Review
The Demon: Hell is Earth #6 is the ending this book deserveswhich is to say that it was fun and vicious. Its not especially thoughtful, but it never made pretenses of being so. Walker, Hennessy, and Sotomayor nail it in the visuals department, bringing Etrigan to devilish life impressively. This one earns a recommendation. Check it out. Read Full Review
Etrigan fans may enjoy having an extra dose of this rarely seen anti-hero, but overall this is solidly in the middle of the pack for quality in superhero comics. Read Full Review
The series ends with the status quo largely restored and both Jason and Etrigan getting what they want " a decent conclusion, but about as memorable as the rest of this series. Read Full Review
Everything wraps up in a neat little bow, if that bow were made from bloody intestines and spiritual torture. The person that caused Hell to spill out everywhere is also the person that fixes things, which can be a cool narrative trick but reads as being very lazy here. I'd hoped for more from this miniseries. Read Full Review
I really enjoyed this series and felt Andrew Constant stuck the landing, here. I mean The Demon pulls friggin’ Excalibur out of Merlin’s body...how do you not like that?!? Fun series. Not familiar with Constant, so hope he writes something down the road or maybe even a second Demon series. I know Demon is going to be in new JLD and wonder if this story gets referenced. Anyway, just a fun comic to read with great art.
