The Turtles take the fight to Baxter Stockman as both Karai and Shredder plan their final moves!
This was a fun issue. We get a bit of story to help set things in motion, but I think what sells it is the art. We get to see all the Turtles and a couple of fan favourites kicking ass and taking names. There's a lot of great buildup here to the 50th issue and the art is phenomenal. Read Full Review

Short of James Stokoe's Godzilla comics, you won't find a better-looking comic from IDW right now. Read Full Review
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hasnt skipped a beat yet, this continues to be one of IDWs best titles. Pick this up and be sure to pick up the miniseries Casey and April that is being released concurrently. It, as with every side series, ties in with the overall excellent storyline. Read Full Review
I know that in the end everything will come together in an explosive arc conclusion, but at this moment, there are so many moving parts and background figures still getting their hands dirty that everything feels fresh and new. What I have seen and experienced in all of the previous issues in this current run (City fall and Donnie's near death to name just a few) has reaffirmed my love for the TMNT property, but more importantly the creative team that has been telling these stories month in and month out has my complete faith with the outcome of issue 50. Each issue has been well worth the buy and read (and multiple buys in the case of variant covers). Read Full Review
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #48 is yet another amazing entry in this fun series, and as we draw even closer to its landmark 50th issue, we are getting a tale that continues to excite. Giving gripping developments, and intriguing twists, this latest entry sets the next up beautifully, being a must have for TMNT fans. Read Full Review
A high stakes action packed issue that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Read Full Review
While it doesnt necessarily have any significant standout moments (although the sheer scale of the Mouser/Flyborg threat probably qualifies), this issue serves as the latest instalment of an incredibly consistent series, and one that doesnt seem to be showing signs of losing momentum any time soon. Mixing nunchuk-twirling cowabunga action with emotional heft and eyebrow-raising plot twists, TMNT is one of the finest licensed comics available today, and is absolute essential reading for any Turtle fans out there. With only two issues left the series continues to build to a finale that has an increasing number of stories to wrap-up. Since I've enjoyed this series more than any TMNT comic since the first volume I'm going to be sad to see it end. Worth a look. Read Full Review
In these final months, TMNT has become an ever-increasing snowball of action and plot, and the funnest ride in comics today. Rock on, turtles, rock on! Read Full Review
While I didn't enjoy this issue quite as much aslast month's, it was still pretty good overall. Iloved the banter between Mikey and Donnie as his "Robo Bro". Also seeing the Shredder of old back in rare form was a great sight. I know things are building and it's so palpable you can taste it, I just wish we got a bigger piece this time around. Plus that retro style cover below is just freaking rad! Read Full Review
There's a moment toward the end of this issue where the team comes together, back-to-back, ready to defend one another from an onslaught of mousers. This is when the series is at its best: a family, watching each other's backs and kicking tons of butt. Unfortunately, the rest of the issue is a bit of a slog. Read Full Review
The rest of the story, however, is a little disappointing. Compared to the high stakes conflicts we've had before, the most exciting thing about this story arc so far has been the connecting covers. Add in the scenes of status quo Shredder and Baxter Stockman being predictably obtuse, and the whole thing feels a bit stale. The saving grace for this issue is Cory Smith and his fantastically frantic fight scenes. Otherwise, I might just skip this one and wait for the next volume. Read Full Review
Love the robo Donnie scene! Fun issue that once again uses every moment to give you the best rendition of the turtles we have ever seen.
It's basically straight action throughout the issue. So much time has been investing into establishing this rich cast that it seems effortless the way that each character is woven into the plot and how they interact with each other. Everything is set in motion and now it's time to sit back and enjoy the well-earned fireworks.
