Ro can no longer ignore the connection she feels to her unique housemate—or the extreme and intense danger that relationship could hold for her.

The Me You Love in the Dark #5 is an incredible work that's emotionally disturbing and cleverly uses the haunted house trope in a sadly relatable way for readers to connect to. It also ends in a satisfying way, wrapping up a series that is going to be even better when collected. This is a dark and haunting horror story that will affect you emotionally and visually. I loved the early issues of this book ; the setup was brilliant as was the slow paced love story. Thing is, at some point the horror part was going to come crashing in. It's a shame that once the full force and view of the creature is shown, the book loses some of its nuance. It is kin of like the Batman Arkham Asylum game in that you complete loads of tasks and clever subplots only for the game to end on a button bashing giant Joker, which doesn't quit leave up to the various other aspects of the game. You saw it coming but it was great to see it unfold. The art absolutely carried this series but Young’s ability to capture fear and suspense til the very end is unparalleled. Do yourself a favour and pick up the trade when it comes out.
An incredible story about emotional and physical abuse. My only complaint is how short the series was. Still, the condensed run makes for a more potent experience.
I want to give this comics series a 10, however, the only downside for me is that the pace of this story is really high. The relationship with the ghost could have been elaborated further in my opion. Nevertheless, this is one of the best comics of the year for me and again published by Image.
You know, there's a reason why Image comics, Boom Studios, Dark horse comics and IDW Comics are often more enjoyable than Marvel or DC Comics.
