While I truly enjoyed the art and story in this book, the fact that it is an Avengers issue that only features one hero put me off a bit. I love Black Panther and this was a great peek into where he is mentally, I found myself missing the rest of the team by the end of the issue. Of course, the book itself was still great but the fact that we never got a single cutaway to what was happening with the rest of The Avengers keeps me from giving this one a higher rating. Plot
Black Panther continues his dangerous mission inside the Meridian Diadem Prison, trying to understand what is happening there. There he saves Harno and Ruatl, who bring him up to date on what is happening.
This pocket universe serves as a prison for thousands of beings from different planets, who live under the yoke of the Loyalists, those who were jailers who followed the orders of Meridian Diadem. When Meridian was defeated by the Avengers, she was put into a state of animated suspension and stopped giving orders.
This power vacuum generated an uprising of the prisoners, but due to their lack of coordination they separated into gangs and the Loyalists continue to control food and supplies.
