One of the problems that has faced Doctor Strange in the past is that as a character, he's often been seen as above it all, with his struggles and challenges sometimes being a bit too heady, a bit too high-concept for readers to fully connect or become invested in. But Aaron and Bachalo have made Strange's problems personal, with an overwhelming threat gunning for him and everyone he's ever known. With the action being this frenetic, this fantastic and this fun, knocking the Sorcerer Supreme down a peg might very well have been the best thing that ever happened to him. Read Full Review
DOCTOR STRANGE is on a roll, redeeming itself for dragging its feet earlier on. This issue pushes Stephen to his limits, proving that he's just as brave and capable without magic as he is with it. While some questions linger, such as how Strange can possibly stop the Empirikul without magic, Aaron is telling such an incredible story that I'm comfortable waiting for him to show us how the good doctor will pull it off. Bachalo does a great job here as well, and while some images suffer from a lack of detail, this is such a gorgeous issue that it's easy not to get hung up on the weaker elements. Aaron and Bachalo have me under their spell, and I can't wait to see where they plan to take this story next. Read Full Review

Doctor Strange #8 was a great set up for what will be all hell breaking loose now that we finally know what lies underneath the cellar. While the price of magic has been a consistent topic, never before have we seen what that price is. We know the cost to the caster, though seeing the price overall is a whole different monster to deal with. Quite literally. Read Full Review

Doctor Strange: Tomb Raider. Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo take the good doctor to places he's never been before evoking feelings of Lara Croft and Sam and Dead Winchester. Another fun issue in the latest saga of the Sorcerer Supreme. Read Full Review
The art in this can be hit or miss, sometimes it's pretty good, and other times it comes out looking worse. The storytelling turns out pretty good, and Aaron makes a pretty easy to get updated on and follow issue. The "Last Days of Magic" look like their about to be shaken up next issue, and I am excited to see where the new revelations lead us. Read Full Review
Doctor Strange has become one of the most reliable books in Marvel in terms of art and unique story. With cameos from the magic community and clear stakes on the line the story has been thrilling. The surreal art of Bachalo is a perfect match for the insane world of magic. If you have not been reading Doctor Strange a being has been destroying magic in all dimensions and now he has reached ours. With the help of the other magical heroes of the Marvel universe Doctor Strange is gathering what is left of magic and hoping he can find a way to stop the science based being. Things may have gone to worse when a new friend of the doctors notices a secret hidden within the Sanctum Sanctorum has been released that Stephen may fear more. If that doesmore
It's exciting to see the Doc fighting the good fight with nothing but shreds of magic and tenacity. The excuse for not calling Tony Stark is flimsy, but solo titles like this require the reader to suspend disbelief, otherwise every comic would turn into just another Avengers book.
