Kev Walker's style of art is fantastic and is showcased brilliantly in this issue. From the action to the characters, everything has a element of fantasy that serves the story and its themes well. Read Full Review
There was a lot of takeaway from this issue of Dr. Strange " Surgeon Supreme, by the end. They packed a lot of discoveries and revelations into this issue, and I for one was satisfied with who the mastermind turned out to be. It was one of those things where you may find yourself wondering why you didn't think of said person orchestrating this chaos, but it worked because anyone would have assumed this was a strictly magic problem. I liked this issue for the sense of adventure and expansion of the magical worlds Stephen Strange seems to be able to trot into at a moment's notice. For the longest time, Marvel Comics has clipped this character's wings by reducing his abilities but now it seems we're steering directly into the awesome charms that go beyond just abracadabra. Of course you will get the most out of this one if you are already following the story but it seemed easy enough to pick up as I went along and does seem to be leading to bigger things. Read Full Review
Dr. Strange brings us to realms, and cities like never before seen. A compelling story with art that brings you to new worlds and realms. Read Full Review
Like an endless stream of notifications on your phone, this issue piles on the plot points to the detriment of nuance. Read Full Review
Even if it reads like a recap playing the hits, all of those settings offer plenty of eye candy and promises an exciting showdown still ahead. Read Full Review
Great continuation to the story. Too bad this will not get to finish on its own terms. Waid and Walker/Tartaglia deliver on the classic feel here.
I enjoyed this one. It felt very long, but not in a bad way? I had a good time. Maybe it's just because I haven't read a Dr. Strange comic in a long time.
Stephen finally figures out who stole his magic stuff. Dr. Druid slots in nicely as Stephen's sidekick/Dr. Watson and plays a key role in the investigation. This plot is coming together and I'm still liking Kev Walker's chunky but detailed art.
The bad guys in this are creepy and cool.
This was interesting to me but it did feel like it went on a little bit, and was very narrate-y.
