GODSDEATH!
In Andlang, land of spirits, the Utgard-Odin challenged Thor to battle for the rune of his brother, the war god Tyr. For Tyr was changed by strange forces, within and without...and to restore him would come only at equal cost. This is the story of the IMMORTAL THOR...and the Odinson's end.
Rated T+
Immortal Thor #12 wraps up a quirky, charming two-parter weakened by uninspired art and its reliance on Marvels G.O.D.S. series. Read Full Review
Immortal Thor #12 is the type of comic book where you want to just enjoy the ride without thinking what is ahead. That has been the case with Al Ewing's entire Thor run and there is a real magic to that. Read Full Review
It remains a solid tale, but not the best that readers have seen from the series. Read Full Review
:The Immortal Thor #12 concludes Thors family rescue mission of Tyr from the thrall of Oblivion. The story is sadly underwhelming as things happen but theres little stakes since we just met most of these characters, the action is short-lived. And the resolution to Thors challenge with the towering wizard Tiwaz is disappointing. However, the standout character here is the man on the cover Tiwaz, notably for his affable personality that contrasts his power and wisdom. Hopefully we get to see more of him and in Coccolos art. Fun book, I disagree with the critics.
Plot
Thor is received by Buri...Bori's father, that is, his great-grandfather, who offers him the rune of Tyr if he defeats him, Thor cannot defeat him with force so he gives him a riddle that he cannot decipher and gives him that rune that contains part of Tyr's soul.
Upon leaving this pocket universe, they save Tyr's body and with the rune return his soul, but Ullr warns Thor that his death is near.
This comic never ceases to impress and amaze in each of its installments, each chapter is a brilliant twist in this story that mixes Norse mythology with relevant current realities.
Art
It is detailed with some influence from the manga but adapted to the comic.
Summary
Thor confronts h more
I'm willing to give it another issue or two because this series has produced some good issues, but these last 2 issues were just plain bad. I liked the ending and some of the art and that's about it.
